2003 S55 key wont turn ignition and lights are blinking

I have a 2003 S55 AMG, Recently the battery died and I bought a new one, and now the key wont turn turn at all. Cannot put it into ignition. Headlights are blinking. Key also wont unlock or lock from remote. Ordered new key FOB from dealer, still no luck. Does anybody have any idea what the problem can be? Any help will be appreciated.

Could it be the battery alarm siren causing all of these problems? The car was standing in the driveway for about 6 months before I changed the battery.

Your battery is dead. Use the key that is inside the key fob to open the drivers door and the trunk. Battery is under the trunk carpet on the right side. Get a jump or charge the battery and have your alternator checked. Could also have something draining the battery when the car is parked. Alarm system has it's own battery that charges it self off the main battery. Yes, it can drain the main battery. I disconnected mine. It's a known battery drain issue. You're lucky if that's all it is.

Pull the carpet up on the passenger side. the fuses are blocks under the metal shields.

There also is a possibility that the new battery isn't fully charged, and a small possibility that it is defective. "New" is not always the same as "good".

If the fuse blew you might have damaged some other electronics too

need to get a SDS computer scan

i bet you blew the SAM or ecu-

and if it's the ecu which means you'll have to replace 4 parts if you take them from a used car - key shifter ecu and ignition switch . They must all come from the same car because they are mated together

I always make it a point when disconnecting my battery to make sure I wrap a cloth or something around those cables to make certain they don't accidentally touch anything. I have seen too many sparks fly from a wrench or something else touching the cables while they are near the post causing numerous electrical problems.

Update...
Changed the fuel pump relay today and it started right up.
I was thinking on putting the battery protector in there. Is it worth it? If so which one would you guys recommend?

are you looking for a battery tender to keep the car plugged in to a wall outlet and fully charged when not being driven ? Ctek and battery tender are the best brands

If you are looking for a battery protector to disconnect your battery when the car is not used , get the battery brain t3 sold on Amazon

it it has a remote keyfob which connects and disconnects the battery to prevent both battery drain and vehicle theft

Get the t3
the t4 does not have the remote control to connect /disconnect the battery

super easy to install , it connects directly to the positive terminal on the battery

Which problem?

"the key wont turn turn at all. Cannot put it into ignition. Headlights are blinking. Key also wont unlock or lock from remote. Ordered new key FOB from dealer, still no luck."
"so I found the fuse and got the key to turn but now it wont start just cranks"

It would be much better to create your own thread, starting by giving full info on your car, including the market (lots of differences between USA, Europe, Japan, Middle-East, etc.), then telling us exactly what the symptoms are in detail.
