Back up camera installation for s430 w220 2001

Ho, I have a 2001 s420 W220 which I love.
I am trying to install a back up camera but I do not have schematics. Was wondering if anyone can help me on this by showing me which pins I should use on the back of the deck to install the camera.
Thanks in advance

What you need is a MMI-interface or an old analog MB-TV Tuner with an AV-Input (Cinch). A direct installation w/o any of the two mentioned components, is not possible. An other obstacle is, if you have an US-American Comand, there is no TV-key (and no TV-function) on your Comand. In that case it is more or less not possible, from my point of view. I can attach attach the pin out of the European Comand 2.5, later. If it helps, I don't know??

Pin Out Coamnd 2.5 EU

Here the European Pin Out of the Comand 2.5. However to connect a RVC you need the forementioned interface, or an analog TV tuner. For USA specs this may not work, as those Comands have no TV function. Here the solution with a KUFATEC MMI on a European Command 2.5

You can also check YouTube once was a track showing the trail to add a RVC. The guy basically dropped out, as the TV button/signal was not existing. Maybe you'll find other solutions there. Good luck

Alright, finally got to testing this out. Have connected everything exept the CAN wires because I haven't received the connectors yet.

So radio works, screen works, but - auto on/off does not work, i can turn on and off manually but it is not controlled by ignition.

Any ideas? Cant seem to see what pin should get 12v ignition input on the Comand unit? There are 2x Kl.30 (12V permanent) but no 12V ignition?

This information (ignition ON) comes across the CAN bus.

Okay! Thanks. Then everything should be set when I get the wires and C connector.

There is one more thing I wonder if I need. I see there is a wire called K-leitung coming from original car harness going into original Audio 10. This I have not connected to anything as of now, but I see on the C connector on the Comand, the same K-leitung input. What is it, and should I connect it?

Btw, I see I posted this in the wrong thread. It was supposed to go into this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w...confusion.html. Sorry for that.

I'm not exactly sure what function "K" has, but it goes from Audio 10 plug/pin A2 to the Comand 2.5 plug/pin C2. You need to change the pin size to the fitting size of the C2 plug
