Kit Delivered...Install Wednesday

After some great work by Greg Weiler at Glauser and my SA at Fletcher Jones, my phone/voice retrofit kit will be installed next Wednesday. Greg was true to his word and followed up contacting my SA in LV and my SA was just as cooperative and got the parts people together to get the kit and call me for the install.

Great work by both dealers...

If any of you have reservations about dealing with an out of state dealer, feel comfortable with Glauser. They go the extra mile after the sale as well as during the sale to make the customer happy

It's a great system, you'll love it! Did you choose a cradle or Bluetooth?

I will be using the cradle setup. I purchased a cradle from AWS for my '06 S430 and also a Moto V557 from Cingular. I leave the V557 in the car and added a RAZR to my account and have the V557 calls forwarded to the RAZR when I am unavailable in the car. It works perfectly.

I really got used to the voice control and when the S550 came through without it because of the backorder, I really missed the features. But MB came through and next Wednesday I will be back in the phone/voice control business...

That's the best set-up. The 221 has infra-red blocking metallized coating on the window glass. It helps keep the interior cooler but it also attenuates cellphone transmissions in and out of the car. With a cradle, you'll be using the car's external antenna so you will get good coverage even in weak signal areas.

BTW: Your car looks fantastic in White!

NJ,

It's good to read of at least one good MB dealer.

All this positive press makes me want to buy my next Benz from Greg.

Greg, call me when the 2010 CL class is coming out. Preferably AMG.

Installed and operating

Picked up the car today about noon time with the phone/voice kit installed. All functions are working fine...excellent reception on the phone and setting up the Navi using voice is so much easier.

Jack,

I just got my installed as well. Have you noticed that when you turn on voice command, the AC lowers itself? Try blasting your ac and turning on your voice command, see if it lowers your AC. Let me know Jack. Wondering if they installed my unit incorrectly. thanks.

I will try that later today...but it might be programmed that way? If the blower is at full blast the noise may interfere with understanding the command given? I'll let you know.

As I suspected, it is programmed to lower the A/C blower noise to allow for a clear voice idenification. Mine does the same thing yours does..if the blower has dropped to a lower speed, then it continues to run when the noise is not as high.

THanks jack. makes me feel better it gets annoying when you first get in the car and start using the voice command.
