Honestly.. did you buy your S for status or love?
My only wish was that it had a better oem iPod interface.
So I guess I did not consider the reaction on the community but it does make quite an impact to say the least.
i must say I had so much cars after that , but nothing came close .
I am looking for a car now. having a wife and 2 kidst the search went down to a BMW 740 or a S class merc , and for a reson i am looking more towards the S class .
I think how saw how good those cars are will always come back to them .
I would go back for the 2 reasons the love and the image !

In my area, new S/CLs in blk or silver are fairly common, so relative anonymity of a blk or silver Merc is much appreciated: the quintessential stealth missle

And welcome to the club!

We don't have too many options for engine, so it will be 5,5 liter 8 cylinders. I will probably need 4Matic, because our NY winter sometimes can be headache. I love Andorite Gray color. Other than this - I actually don't care.
I like good stereo - it has it.

)) It's a big mystery for me what looks cool - the sign itself or the rear of the car....I like RWD too....

I always say, if I can have only one car, it'll be an S-Class; and thus there must be an S-Class in the garage before considering anything else.
I bought an S-Class because I wanted a car that is made by a company that is unashamedly proud of its history, its engineering traditions, and whose restrained style and design ethos resonates strongly with me. More than most cars the S-Class has character and yes, soul.
To me there is something massively seductive about a well engineered and crafted product designed not for economy but to simply be the best at what it does - and in this the S-Class excels.

I was visiting an automotive establishment to pick up a rare part for a high horsepower bit on another car. I happened to see a Sea-Foam green 1956 Belair parked at said establishment. I swung the Big S into a spot right beside and took a long look at the Belair. Classic car in a "of the era" hue that really worked with the proportions. I smiled as I walked away thinking of the Belair. Once I walked into the store I noted a well dressed gent leaning against the counter and talking with the proprietor of the place. He looked at me and said with a smile "that is the nicest car on the road today, nothing finer" and I turned and said "yes, that '56 is a true gem" He furrowed his brow and said back "no, I mean your rich red sedan... There is nothing more prestigious..."
I thanked him for the complement but let him know that the Belair had stood the test of time and deserved the complement as well.
Nevertheless, I think the S class still has some curb appeal to the masses.
