07 S550 battery issues

07 S550 battery issues

I have a 2007 S550 and Im trying to locate the consumer battery in the rear trunk. Does anybody knows where it is? Also does anybody know of a replacement battery?

Nope, one shot deal, once it goes-so does the car.

Avoid jump starting it, call MB Roadside Assistance if you need a jump start, take to dealer for replacement and reset of all controls. These cars do not like to be jump started and could fry some major electronics.

No need to jump start if the consumer battery is flat. Pre-facelift W221 has a separate starter battery.

A regular AGM battery, I guess those can be called regular batteries today.

A nightmare? You would not even need tools to reach the battery, the panel behind the battery comes off easily if you know how to do it (look at WIS for instructions). I would take the floor panels off myself but that should not be necessary (easier to put the panel back properly).

Deka 9AGM49, group size 49. Already replaced mine due too many discharge cycles from 1200 watt power inverter. About $175.

I just decided to order as it less expensive and it only took 3 days.

Anyways, the car started everytime even though the consumer battery was discharged due to the starter battery being isolated.

I really think if the car is not used like mine that the battery will last the life of the car. The battery on my S550 was replaced at almost 130000 miles and that was with at least 16 hours a day on the inverter with my laptop, access point, scanner, and laser printer connected as I am to lazy to turn off upon getting home.
