In the market for a 2014 S-Class - questions
I am in the market for a 2014 S-Class Mercedes with low miles. I was looking at a 2013 but realized that the new body style came out in 2014 so I am focusing on that right now. Since I am new to this forum I thought I would ask some questions as I begin this journey. They are:
- Smart to focus on the 2014 given the new body/etc or am I making too much of this? I plan on purchasing it and will own it for 5+ years.
- I want to focus on a CPO vehicle - smart or too limiting to number of vehicles that I would want to look at? Should I get an extended warranty above the CPO one?
- I notice when looking at the 2014 multiple wheel sizes (18, 19, 20"). Is there a preferred size of tire that people on the forum suggest?
- Options. I usually like a nicely optioned car but don't want to add too much to this already expensive car by adding unnecessary options. Any must have or ones I should keep away from?
I live in Northern California and am willing to travel up to 500 miles to purchase this car. That does give me some flexibility which I hope benefits me by increasing the choices I have to choose from.
Thanks in advance for your help with these basic questions. I'm sure that I will benefit greatly by your experience/insight.
Regards,
Dave

Offer them $58k and run if it's in pristine condition.

If you don't download the app, there is a way to use the mobile version of this site too I think.

Luckily right after that our daughter's cheerleading team won a bid to a competition that was a 12 hour drive away. I believe I was officially forgiven after the 2nd hour, when she discovered the massaging seats and realized we were doing a steady 100 mph in near total silence.

My dealership is 20 min away and tries to give S class owners at least an E class or new M class, but my other dealer that's 45 min away gives you an S class if you give them an S class. It's just a pain when it's that far away, when the other dealer is so close, but I may want to try out a new 2015 S next time for fun.
