Will a 2010-2013 Mercedes S63 steering wheel fit 2007 Mercedes s63?
I want to change my steering in my 2007 to the 2010-2013 one. Will it fit and function correctly? Plug and play?

search this forum - it can be done - its hell - took one guy a few years to work it out... the later steering wheel buttons do life quite differently - oh and I think u get issues with airbags but that's easy (in comparison)

Yes and no
Can it fit? Yes
will the buttons work? You’ll have to do a lot of soldering it’s not an easy task. The new wheels 2020 is all computer base all it needs is an encoder and programming for the buttons to function. Everyone freaks out about the airbag but that’s all easy stuff.
hard part is the spline. 2010+ spline is different and needs to be shaved down to the w211 spline width.

Thank you for the info. It’s not worth the trouble for the newer steering wheel.

i do tons of them every month for people, you will be in 1650 for a fully built wheel for plug and play. id recommend getting the stock wheel remade with flat bottom, thicker grips and amg paddles.

Thank you for the information. I already have the S65 amg steering wheel in my car from 09. I will think about your offer but leaning towards not really doing it cause of the fact it’s more a want than a need.

the one thing that would stop me buying any car would be a flat bottomed wheel - note no BMW M car ever got that stupid mistake...

why round wheels are the right thing

I attempted this too, not AMG but a 2010 facelift wheel and airbag onto a 2007. I had no issues with the splines or any of that, main issue was the buttons not working at all and I believe I had an airbag light come on which is obviously an issue. I know a few people said with some soldering the buttons can be made to work but nobody has really gone into detail or made a video showing how it's done. Essentially I gave up, it's really the only part of the interior I couldn't get to work from the 2010.

You can retrofit a newer style steering wheel into a W221. I did it some time back on mine (you can check out the thread on my car). Really modernized the interior IMO. All steering wheel buttons work aside from cruise control which still functions with the stalk. New style airbag works as well.

The airbag just plugged right in, no issue. I honestly can't remember if I reset it and the code went away, this was a couple years ago. I'm not sure what "single stage vs dual" means.

all these cars 2003 and up can all accept all the airbags without any faults. mercedes made it very easy in that sense.
