Driver seat wear

My 2010 S-550 driver seat bottom is starting to show some wear.
Driver seat back rest is OK.
Local dealer wants around $800 (after discount) for the leather replacement
driver seat cover.
Considering having a shop that does upholstery do the replacement,
which should be cheaper?
My concern is is there any electronics, fans etc that could be
adversely affected if an upholstery shop replaces the seat bottom?

Anyone have any experience on this type issue?

Attachments cover proper replacement this should give you an idea of what's involved. If dealer provided part # shop online new/used if not, post VIN I will supply # to comparison shop.BTW should be posting here: https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w221-74/

I wanted to get the same info for the W222. How were you able to get those files?

There are many services that can repair it without going through that. Some are mobile and come to you. Ask the dealer who they use to fix seats without replacing the leather.

Try Colourlock out of the UK as they get factory paint to match the leather.
you can easily do it yourself and your seats will look like new with a perfectly matched colour
