Hi i have read multiple threads here about diy joyeauto carplay install but I'm still a tad hesitant to do it myself. I'm not handy at all. I contacted a couple of local car audio shops and they're not willing to touch it.

I was wondering if there is someone in the California bay area who has done it and is willing to help out. I am happy doing it myself with a little supervision. I've read posts where folks got together on the east coast so wanted to give it a shot here

Id say based on 68 views and no offers, evidently not . It might be better to just have a quality AV installer tackle the job?

While I have you- does anyone know if installing a joyeauto system voids the car warranty?

No, it wont void the warranty of the whole car....if by installing it the audio system or Comand is screwed up then ya, Mercedes wont probably honor repairs to that specific area. But will they void the powertrain warranty.....NO

If you trying to install an Apple Car play you should call Soundwave Auto in San Carlos, they were showing me a system that does apple but not android that they install that he said will not effect your warranty

I messaged them and they indeed install joyeauto. Thanks for the tip

They told me they prefer this product over joyeauto bit i hadn't heard of it before. Has anyone else?

I completely trust these guys, they only sell good products but this is a major install, but from what I can see this is probably you only option if you want something properly installed by a dealer that has been in business fo rmany years.

Well, I was in the same boat as you on my 2018 Lexus last year.
For Lexus, the system is called Grom.
Works 90% of the time. There are some moments on the initial boot up that the system wouldn't recognize and you need to turn the radio off and on again.
I had it done through a reputable audio shop and they did a great job. I think they charged me like $350 which was pretty steep.

Can you post couple pictures once its completed.

As far as warranty goes, it's hard enough to get dealers to work on low mileage cars...
I can only imagine them refusing to deal with anything tempered with.

I haven’t gone through it yet but did call the company above. They mentioned they can install joyeauto and zz2. They said joyeauto has a little lag and they recommended going with zz2 which they can give a warranty on.
