Luxury vs Executive questions

Does anyone know the base price difference between an S580 Luxury and an S580 Executive model?

Has anyone heard if all that rear seat equipment and/or the 10 degree rear wheel steering system reduces the trunk space at all?

Mercedes Benz of Rockville Centre in New York has 39 incoming S-Class and you can view their build sheets for MSRP prices and options. Most are S580's but there is at least 1 S500. I was able to order a 2022 a month and a half ago, but these all seem to be 2021's.

I don't know how any options affect trunk space.

The reclining rear seat does decrease trunk space.

Yeah, sort of what I thought, thanks. I REALLY would like the 10 degree rear steering, but if the trunk is impacted by expensive, rear seat do-dads that I will virtually NEVER use, I guess I'm going to have to pass on the Executive model. Why MBUSA found it necessary to put that marvelous steering in a package with all that rear seat stuff, is just beyond me. How disappointing.

It's been a while since I owned the W222 S Class - I had the rear reclining seats but not the "executive" seats which had the foot rest and the center console tray tables. A friend of mine had the "standard" S Class rear seats without the recline feature whatsoever. The trunk space was only minimally impacted.
If you get the fridge option then there's a very significant box in the trunk that would prevent large luggage from laying flat.
With regards to whether you'll use the back seat reclining seats - I say go for it. It's very comfortable and if you have a family - they'll always use it. If you are going to use the car just for yourself 99% of the time - then its really a matter of flip a coin.

The “executive” seat, to me, has always seemed ridiculous in the non-Maybach S Class, because of the the need to move the front passenger seat all the way forward, rendering it useless, just so one person can recline in back. Same goes for the refrigerator. If someone has a real desire for those things, the Maybach is the way to go.

As for trunk space, I run conventional tires and carry a compact spare in my trunk. I don’t want the space reduced by rear seat options that I will never use. Anyway, I’ve decided to go with the Luxury model. As much as I’d love to have the 10 degree rear axle steering, I’ll have to settle for the 4.5.

I think (at least in the USA) the rear axle steering is only available on the AMG line (4.5 degree) and the Executive line (10 degrees), but not the Luxury line.

You are correct and I was mistaken. Good ol' MBUSA. You try to spend big bucks with them, but they insist on making you spend even more to get just what you want. I've lived without rear axle steering for my entire life. I'll live without it now.
