My experience is that it does not change over until at least December every year. If you search on the forum, there is a 2023 ordering guide for the S and Maybach

Not much change; everything is as before except you've got the Manufaktur stuff. The no-kick has been missing and still is and certainly there will be various constraints throughout the year. The options move forward almost unchanged in terms of costs so all you really have to do is add in the higher base price (124k) and you're in there with the 22 configurator.

The base price on the 580 is a massive $6,300 more then last year. In addition, the rear seat entertainment is now part of the executive model again (it was always supposed to be but was highly shortaged) so there’s another $3,400. Plus I think designation is up $100. So that’s $9,800. Then you factor in the vehicles with DF6 warmth and comfort lite or DU3 warmth and comfort liter, which was $200-$650 less, and it adds up. Pretty insane, but at least it includes the rear entertainment, energizing, and full massage.

The Executive trim has always showed up as an amalgamation of 5 options on window stickers rather then the single box that it looks like on the order guide. It’s the warmth and comfort package ($3800), the rear seat package ($4,150), the executive rear seat package ($3,150), the rear entertainment package ($3,400, when available), and the 10 degree rear steering. The prices have fluctuated slightly (in 2022 rear interior assist showed up as an additional $350 option and the executive rear seat package was an additional $300). So it shouldn’t look different then it would have on the 2021s or 2022s.

Well done on the explanation. My salesman did not have the benefit of your post when I spoke to him: A bit of a grilling was had... But I'm over it; just had to make friends with a little sticker shock. Picking up the car at 4PM; looks like I'll immediately be able to test the windshield wipers.

Random stuff...

The matrix function is not enabled, the US headlights remain as before.

I received two flacones: Bamboo Mood and MOOD cotton, I went bamboo. Also received two ashtrays; in my case these will be small storage devices.

The dealer threw a travel mug, a decent tote, and a hoodie in the trunk. I didn't discover it until I got home and they didn't mention it. Nice touch.

The 4D stereo is, I think, the best I've encountered so far and better than the Bermy in my Porsche. I was not able to find a car with one to test drive.

The car is so very quiet, I knew that but had forgotten.

Someone had been asking about the installed apps in the rear tablet; there are 10ish installed. It looks to me like it can adjust almost everything but I didn't get into it much.

Mrs Crab is happy; played with lights, massage, seat settings, etc.

I'm not at all disappointed; I had gripes during the test driving phase and they remain. On the other hand it's a pleasure to pampered and unlike many I like the tech.

Oh, the door handles work as advertised.

Hi, I ordered a 580e and it is supposed to be on the ship coming to the US, got on the ship last week. Has your vehicle being released to the dealer yet? Thanks for the information!

The 500 and 580 have been released and mine has been delivered. It left the VPC a few days after the pricing was published but yours may not follow a similar track. The 580e may or may not have it's certification, if it doesn't, it will hold at the VPC until it gets it. You can determine this by going to the EPA website where you will find a search tool for certifications. Then you have pricing; your dealer should be able to tell you if pricing had been released. Federal law requires the Mulroney and no pricing means no Mulroney. Mine sat s bit over 3 weeks at the VPC waiting on pricing.

These things may be done already, I just don't know. Please do report back if you do the research

Some things becoming clear as day 1 closes out: I'm used to the doors holding at wherever place I let them go; should be on every car and I definitely miss that. A neither here nor there thing is that this car seems to encourage me to go slow; I have to make sure I'm not holding up traffic. The last car was the opposite and I'm used to having to closely watch the speed to avoid tickets in other cars as well. This is my first time wondering why a guy is right behind me and then realizing I'm below the speed limit. That's embarrassing! I should be able to learn my way out of it but it still says something about how the car affects me; I'm like Joe Mellow as soon as I flop in the seat. On the drive home from the dealership I was able to get the cruise going, set a destination, and everything else I needed to do on the roll; I bring this up because I was a little worried about tech overload. I'm an old man and all the talk here on the forum had me wondering if I was going to be in over my head but I'd say (most) younger guys and anyone who likes fiddling with tech will have it figured out in no time. The rest I sorted out today without much issue, getting my Sirius transferred over, TIDAL up and running, went through the settings, etc.

A few items I haven't figured out yet: How to get the passenger side mirror to dip when I reverse. I noticed if I switch the mirror to that side it will do it, but if you're running on gestures it won't. I'd like it to do it all the time. Likewise, I'd also like for the car to lock itself when I get out; am I missing those things or are they not available features?

Mirror dipping will be somewhere buried deep in settings. Just gotta click on every menu and every setting, find stuff you didn't know about it, and eventually you'll find mirror dipping. As for walk away auto lock, that's a feature MB has never had. They've always subscribed to the make sure YOU lock the car philosophy. What was your last car that had walk away auto lock and infinite stop doors, the Panamera?

Yeah, that auto lock and auto open features are two of the things I really miss from my 2020 750i. That 40 ft/lbs or so of extra torque is also sorely missed.

My S500 car has been in the Brunswick port for over a month now and I have no clue when it will arrive. I'm about to cancel the deal since I get zero information out of the dealership. They seem absolutely unconcerned about me or my car just sitting there.

I got the same exact explanation from my salesman. I put my deposit around July 7th, and he said the car should arrive in Sept if there are no delays—October if there are any...

Asked for a follow up several times and he said he'd call me back and this was the "reason". Recently I saw the pricing was the 7 Million that was posted earlier. Not too happy with the constant haggling for any sort of update.

Apparently they also changed all the codes in Netstar so they also said they don't know what's going on.

I was debating on pulling my deposit from this particular dealer just due to lack of accountability and any communication and go elsewhere, but am worried about the car arriving to my spec within the next month or so—waiting all over again wouldn't be the end of the world but yeah. This is my first MB purchase so I'm not sure this is the norm.

lol, a good way to make sure I lock the car is to lock it automatically every time! On the other I guess I"ll have to do another dive. I thought I hit every menu item but I must have missed a scroll down or something like that. Panamera for the doors, have to go back to Caddy for the locks. One of the few things the Germans always get wrong.

Not sure which car you have but some 23s like the E53 have not been priced yet and are being held at the VPC. Mine was on the pricing hold for a bit more than 3 weeks before the 580s were released. The dealers are having trouble with their new software so this is not entirely made up, they made a system-wide update of some sort and have been struggling since then. This doesn't mean your dealer isn't a Dbag; if you haven't already done so, go to the thread I'll link and inquire about your status; there is a fellow there that has been helping people out. Bring your VIN.

I would pass on the mug and the tote but I will trade an umbrella for your hoodie.

Yep my order is for an E53 Coupe! Okay good to hear it from another source—just wish they had been transparent about it, instead of not calling me back.

I emailed my salesman to ask him if there's a PO # and or VIN out yet. Cheers!

If they don't give you a VIN, go in person and ask them to look up your order while you're watching the screen. I have a feeling you're going to be seeing something more than they're telling you. My order was on June 4th, it was produced on the 29th of Aug, hit the VPC one month later at the 29th Sept, then left there a week ago and was delivered Monday. Another fellow on this thread who had the same date of production is still waiting on the Manufaktur interior and his car has not yet been produced. Whatever the case may be with yours it appears to me they know more than they're saying. The ordering system is messed up, but not so much they can't tell you where you're at in the process.

The car had an exemplary ride as is (exec with 19" wheels sans E-ABC) but I figured it couldn't hurt to lower the tire pressure down to normal which on my filler cap is 35 psi. Turns out the difference, while not huge, was significant. I did not believe the ride had much room to improve but even Mrs Crab noticed the difference and she didn't know I had changed tire pressures. Again, not huge but a real gain. I grow more impressed with the car as I get time in it.

I've noticed a few tiny things I hadn't noticed when I picked the car up. I carefully checked the paint and panel alignment before I rolled out of the dealership and similarly looked for flaws in the interior. Today I noticed that at the top of the center screen where the panel meets the holder behind it there is some plastic flashing poking out. It's subtle but it's there. I've also noted that if you push on some of the interior panels like the wood running across the dash on the passenger side it has more give than I would expect. It doesn't bother me because none are touchpoints and there is no visible indication, but it's there. Going back to the exterior I went at the gaps with calipers when I was out at the house today and they are very even. I had seen a video showing some misalignment and differing gaps but I'm not seeing it on mine. Could be the quality control is improving as the model years go by?

Also tested the supplied headphones today, they sound half decent and are reasonably comfortable to wear. I'm not a big headphone guy and I'm old and half deaf so probably not the best to make a call about them. The data works in the back and you can share screens as shown in various reviews. The browser is kinda crappy in the stock configuration in that it's infested with ads and doesn't seem as fast as I would expect in that it's slower than the phone sending the data when using its browser. When I get more time I"ll see if extensions can be installed back there. Not sure what browser it is other than it's not what I use; that being Firefox. As is, I think most people would just as soon browse on their phone as use the built in screen. The tablet is still a wild card in that I haven't tried to install apps off the market or sideload them yet; if that works it would (IMO) be better than the rear screens for Internet usage except for watching video. I don't know the resolution back there but the screens are sharp.

@crabman , what brand and tyre size your dealer gave you?

And, yes to above, ie a few pics would be nice.

And, please, use shorter paragraphs. Most of us are getting old and cannot really read anything close to a wall of text. Meant no offence.

You'll see from the stuff on the windshield why I haven't taken pics. It isn't just that I'm not really a picture guy; it rains in Seattle. In any event, does anyone know what these thingies are in this pic?

The reason for the lack of pics...

In an effort to get a picture of something someone might find interesting, these are your source in back. The audio can go over the car speakers or to any capable device.

Again, possibly interesting; this is what you get with the headphones: The sizing is not going to be suitable for very young ones and they are needlessly heavy. Chances are good an S Class owner has a better device(s) already that they would probably prefer..

The first person in back commented on the center speaker. It appears bigger in the picture than in person and isn't lopsided to my eye but I wouldn't describe it as small.

At some point someone had asked about the Aero wheels on a dark car, here they are for your viewing pleasure. They fit the car well, much like the speaker in the picture the perspective doesn't get it quite right; the sidewall appears less tall as you're standing there looking at them. Still, people weaned on wheels that hurt performance in every possible way may not be happy with this wheel sizing; an in person look would probably be a good idea.
