2023 S500
New S500

I’m really enjoying this car. I know it’s probably not a big deal for a lot members here but this is my first S class and I’m impressed. One thing that immediately stands out to me versus my GLE is the fit and finish and how much more solid it feels. The GLE had major build quality issues that just aren’t here in my S500. Those issues really detracted me from enjoying the car. This thing has none of those ugly and numerous flaws that plagued my GLE.

I’ve owned nothing but white cars for what seems like forever. This color is awesome and it’s a great change for me. I’m usually not into black wheels but this color combination just strikes a chord with me. I would have never ordered this combination if given a choice so I’m glad this kind of fell into my lap due to availability.

Also, I had the high-end Burmester in my GLE. This base version in this car sounds just as good to my ears. It’s lacking a little in the lower-end bass and spacial department but it’s just as loud and clear to me.

I would never touch MB SUVs again based on my previous experience, but I’m really digging this and will probably walk into another S lease after this if all goes well. This time I might order something versus just buying off the lot.

Frenetic,

Congratulations! Beautiful spec…I’m a little bit biased.

It is a big deal to take delivery of an S Class. You should be very proud of yourself and enjoy!

I’ve had mine for almost a year now and enjoy it every time I drive it. I’ve been away for a bit and can’t wait to drive it this weekend. It’s a very very special car at any price point.

Great car, great colour!

When I bought mine, this colour (Graphite Grey Metallic?) was not available. If it were, I would likely choose yours over mine (High tech Silver).

Swoon. That’s it! It has the strongest presence of any truly drivable car. Enjoy second by second of it.

beutiful car. i really like the color. i have had my first sclass since May 2022 and continue to enjoy it every single day. The only issue I have had is that when i went to my local tire guy to put on my winter tires he told me that the Pirellis that were on my car were not runflats. They were supposed to be RFs and foam filled. They were foam filled but not RFs. My dealer agreed to replace them with new OE tires and I will have them installed when I do the switch in another 6 weeks or so.I do find the car very smooth quiet and plenty powerful for me and by the sounds of it that is your experience too. Enjoy the ride

Mine also has 20’s. I wouldn’t want to go any larger…as is illustrated by the many comments on this forum.

Infact next time (if I stay with the s class…Bentleys allure is always there but I do love my S580…) I may go with the 19’s.

Speaking only for myself; 19s are treating me well. It's also fair to say I'd have gone 18 if they were there, unless they were hideous.

I’m glad I have 20’s on mine; I think it’s a good compromise between looks and comfort. 21s seem too thin for a car if this size.

Sorry for a weird question but how come you prefer to have the run-flats compare to the non-RFT foam filled? Isn't the ride of run-flats harsher?

the run flats are foam filled. The Pirellis were also foam filled but non run flats. The car didn’t have a spare or anything to fix a flat. I wanted what was supposed to come on the car being the foam filled run flats.

I have a 2022 S500 in Graphite with 19's and love it. My 11th Mb and it replaced a 2012 S550. Enjoy your car.

Nice ride for sure. Is the interior white or gray?

Love the straight 6 engine. Really started to break in & open up around 7K miles. Try the preferred performance settings all set to "Sport+" mode except the suspension set to "Comfort." The vehicle wakes up and steers nicely plus still gives that ultra smooth S-Class ride your paying for while firming up when it senses you getting on it or cornering hard.

It’s white. Yes, I like this engine a lot as well. It’s very smooth and I heard it’s a lot lighter than the V8. It has more than enough power for my needs.

I heard MB was moving the 48-Volt ISG to the transmission. Does anyone know if that is the case for the 2023 MY or is that coming later?

It is already in the transmission. E-class release below.

Oh, thanks. For some reason I thought it was not incorporated in the transmission but they were going to change it and move it there.

My S500 interior is black with black poplar wood including the steering wheel which I wanted and was difficult to find. I only have 3k miles but already had an argument with a pothole which resulted in a blowout. Was able to get home on the runflat tire and MB roadside assistance towed the car to my dealer for a new tire.

I generally hate black wheels but the polished rim makes all the difference. They remind me of older 911 rims.

Yeah, the polished lip makes all the difference. All black wheels are just too dark without any contrast to me, but I’m really liking these wheels a lot. It fits this car well, especially with the paint.

I’m enjoying this car more and more. I finally got the seats dialed in and diving deeper into other settings like massage seats. This car is going to spoil me for anything else in the future, which sucks since I’m kind of a cheapskate, relatively speaking. The GLE was the most expensive car I purchased to date and I thought I was bonkers for buying that…

I love this post. Now you know why I haven't stepped up to an S Class....yet. That and my wife thinks it would be ridiculous for me to drive a car that big. So for now, I will enjoy it vicariously through you.
