Have a classmate from the University of Rochester who still works for NASA in Huntsville and collects classic M3 bimmers but don't go there as much from GA residence since Thomas Pit BBQ closed its doors in Madison on Highway 72.
I agree but the talent in Huntsville probably would not have shown up for an assembly line type of job. I live in Birmingham and I wouldn't buy a Benz from anywhere outside of Germany.

When production was moved from SoCal to Texas, to bust the Union, Quality suffered on our Tactical Production Line. Vietnamese technicians from Orange County High Schools and Community Colleges are skilled craftsman from Birth. Sure HS kids from Huntsville whose parents were Rocket Scientists could make a better Quality SUV? But I'm not a Bean Counter...lol

Hope W223 quality improves with the Facelift. W214 new model has me concerned with its pop out door handles.

Just got the call. The repurchase of my 2022 S580 has been approved. Now I await a call from Sedgwick, the company that handles buy-backs for MBUSA.

You probably already mentioned this but what are you going to replace it with?

I don't know what our friend Streamliner will do, but I just saw an Alfa Romeo commercial on TV. I've never seen an AR commercial. Rest assured, you will never see me driving one.

I've always been told good things come to those who wait. I never had proof because I'm hopelessly impatient, so thank you for providing verification. I hope the buy back goes smoother than the rest of the ordeal.

Good job. Let us know the details of the buyout. Do they prorate? I was always curious about the settled terms vs suing, assuming there’s a difference.

I’m sure if you’re filthy rich with a $10+ million dollar home the cost of this is peanuts, but when my logical brain looks at this, I don’t see anywhere near $250k to build this. When you can build an entire house in Arkansas for that kind of money, something is off. Maybe 10% of that would be kind of reasonable, but that’s still pushing it.

That’s just a gigantic ripoff if you ask me. but when you have 9 or 10 figure bank accounts, does it really matter other than thinking you’re getting the best because you’re paying outrageous prices? If I had that bank account, I probably wouldn’t care, either.

Not sure if the msrp is similar in the states or there's just a high markup because the local market can support such a price

So, Steam, I answered my own question. You’ll get reimbursed for most everything you paid for, including tax, registration, etc., but according to California law, which I presume you’re under, Mercedes has

…the right to deduct your mileage using a special calculation. To determine the mileage offset, the dealer must multiply the miles the car had on it when you first presented it for repair by the cash price you paid, then divide this figure by 120,000, a representation of miles. So, if you paid $15,000 for the car and drove 12,000 miles before you brought in the car, the formula would be: 15,000 * 12,000 / 120,000 = $1,500.
So, if you financed and paid, for example, $25k to date but have 15,000 miles on it, they can deduct (25,000 x 15,000)/120,000 = $3,125 from the $25k you paid, or you will get back $21,875. This is essentially 87.5%

If you paid cash at say $135,000, then you would get back $118,125, which is the same 87.5%. Wow, because it’s a flat percentage, the offset of the reimbursement just seems more painful for a full cash buyout.

When the W223 came out, MBC was replaced by EABC with a $6,500.00 option price. I got the option on my 2022 S580 and fully expected this new suspension option to be sensational and to provide an even better ride quality than MBC. WRONG! The new EABC in my humble opinion is absolutely HORRIBLE! The excuse I hear is that MB made the ride “sportier,” which to me is truly insane. Magic Body Control was simply wonderful, so naturally, MB decided to “fix” it. Yet another MB blunder.
You know what else MB "fixed" when it is not broken? The last generation, facelift X253 GLC steering system. https://mbworld.org/forums/glc-class...ml#post8805281
Unless I am missing something, pre-facelift was not broken, no complaints of the steering feel, the responsiveness and/or performance.

What about this 'un? Looks exactly like the one I had. The only thing I can't tell is whether or not it has the fully adjustable rear seats or not.
Mine had the 20" rims. This one looks like 19" perhaps.
