Nice, thanks for sharing. You can hear the V8 rumble from that flat four from two miles away.

just wanted to sound in.

I HATE it when i see someone with a non-AMG benz with it badged AMG. I work as a Valet and a couple days ago i had a SL 500 badged SL65 Brabus, it was a good job on the decals, they were in all the proper places and it had the sport package with aftermarket wheels. when i got in it i thought it strange that the tach read a redline at 6000 RPM since the 65's redline at 5800. then i noticed not a single AMG decal anywhere in the car. it Pissed me off to no end.

However if your running something like a SL600 turbo, or a CL 600 turbo and put AMG on it, I don't feel so bad cause they arent slow cars and if you can beat one of those you'd be right there on an AMG.

I attend UCF here in Florida and ran into another CLK500 "AMG" the other day, raced him in my CLk 500 and beat him( i have exhaust, intake, & weight reduction). I just love to put these yuppies in their place.

I understand that its wrong to put a AMG badge on a non-AMG car, that is very wrong. But, be a little respectful, all because a mercedes isn't an AMG, doesn't mean its "crappy". There is a reason why AMGs are AMGs, some people prefer a more smoother and comfortable ride when they purchase a $100k+ car, and some prefer the more aggressive drive, the sports car feel. Any benz, AMG or not is still no where near a "crappy" car, so have some respect.

I have respect for all Mercedes, period. I do not, however, have respect for people who try to pass their car off as something it is not.

So I'm at the dealer today and ask about AMG emblem on non AMG and they say, "don't happen from the factory". So when walking through their service we're laughing at the car they took on trade, an SL500 AMG! LOL

Depends....seems alot of these people here would take a $20k AMG car over a $100k non-AMG car, or at least.

I must have hit a little close to home with mjr24. At least he deleted his post/worthless jab, just not fast enough.Must have the AMG emblem on the back of his.
Are you still that stupid that you don't understand what a poser is? This is one, and he didn't get $100k. for it when he turned it in. I wish my $20K. car was still worth $92k (I didn't pay that)! Yours doesn't depreciate does it Mr. intelligence? I have the title for mine, do you? Why are you still trying to insult me or my vehicles mr. high and mighty?

I went to the dealer yesterday to drop my car off for service AGAIN, and there was a one off SL55 AMG with single mufflers. I started laughing and told the service writer they should charge those posers more for their oil changes and Service. My SA started laughing and agreed 100%. Later last night, I was on Sunset Blvd and saw a GWagen with a V12 Kompressor on the side . LOL

Smile 2000 S430 AMG Package

In 2000 I purchased a brand new S430 equipped with the AMG Sports Package. The only place it said AMG was on the wheels. Though it had every upgrade available (at that time) and was an AMG Sports Package it did not have AMG on the car. Why should it, it isn't an AMG.

Over the years I've seen a SLK23, E32 and even a ML600. People do goofy things to attract attention. In the end they know what they have and so do we. How do you explain a ML600 AMG to your service advisor?

You have singlehandedly restored some faith in me and also seemed to have joined the poser haters group in one swoop.
A ML600 COULD be explained if you had installed a stroker engine or a V12 6.0, and that has been done before. You could also badge it ML500 6.0 (OR ML430 6.0 etc). This type of poser would be harder to tell because they are possible.

Be sure to post pictures of your creation. For maximum effection you should also install hub caps and a large rear wing too. I won't waste a napkin on your visually badge engineered reflection of yourself though. But it would worth a laugh.

Hahahahhaha, I have seen PLENTY of these "AMG package" cars and none of them come off the truck with AMG badges on the trunk.... I'm just telling you.

If it came off a truck and it had an AMG badge, it must be a dealer trade. Once again, I'm just telling you. Sure it will have them on the wheels, just like every other car that is ordered with AMG wheels.

And BTW, I have seen an E55................... an E55 that read V12 biturbo down the fender and E65 AMG on the trunk lid. I'm surprised he didn't have a Renntech Brabus Lorinser Kleeman Amex BlackCard to go along with that.

I saw this thread and just had to reply. I work at a benz dealer, and have never ever seen any MB come off of the truck that had AMG badging on it and wasn't an AMG. And trust me, we would all talk sh*t about it if we saw one. I have seen an S430 with AMG badging on it, and we all made fun of it..... I was even driving down the road one day and saw a W203 with AMG on the left side of the trunk lid and CLK230 on the right side. I couldn't contain myself, it was so freakin hillarious!!

The perfect car for me would be an E63 wagon with all of the AMG badging takin off, and E280 CDI on the tailgate. That way I could embarras any corvette owner, by whooping their tail in the ole "grocery getter"

I saw a lot of new MLs with AMG badges back in europe but they all were like 300s and 500s. And the badges looked like it cam with it from the factory.

Here's a special one of a kind with a personal tag.
I like the reflection of my 500E off his tailgate
