I have been driving my car around for years with only FM 1 station working. I can connect my phone and play music with iTunes. Navigation works. Originally, I got the "Device Unavailable" message after a battery drain. Dealer wants $3000 to replace system. I have seen the thread under the ML model that said others had this issue and were able to resolve it by unplugging the control module for a few minutes to reset it. I want to find my control module to unplug it and see if that works but I cannot locate it. Does anyone know where it is on a 2009 R350??
It sounds like your head unit is defective. There isn't a separate control unit for the radio, it's all integrated. You can try pulling out your head unit and leaving it unplugged for a few minutes.
There is an antenna splitter for radio and NAV behind the driver seat and under the carpet. I am not sure it has something to do with it.
Mine did not come with the NAV, so I installed the NAV, I had to buy the antenna splitter to split between radio and NAV.
jsnowden - Any resolution on this? My wife's 2010 R350 just started displaying "Device Unavailable" for Radio, Sat Radio, etc. The only audio we can get is from the CD player. I found the same ML thread as you and was hoping the same un-plug procedure would work for us.

hi - anyone have a solution for this? Same thing just happened to me on my 2010 r350 blutec. MB is no help over the phone.
Add me to this as well! 2009 r320 bluetec...battery died and had to get a jump start
everything works but radio "Device Unavailable" I also read the other threads and
now I'm look where I can find the "box" to unplug and re plug all the fiber optic wires mentioned... If anyone can help out with a step by step guidance ...it would be greatly appreciated!

Jumping in on this, too. Wife's 2010 R350 just started with the same Device Unavailable symptom on radio, etc. The only thing that works is the CD player.
On that last picture, it says left rear footwell which to me means behind the drivers seat. However, the picture looks like its behind the passenger seat. Can anyone confirm? Also, did this fix your problem?

Was anyone able to find the modules on 2010 to 2012 R350 bluetech. I m looking for them now after 5 years of this thread being created. Hopefully someone will reply. I still haven't found it documented anywhere. There are videos for.the older 2006 but nothing for newer models.
Can someone help and let me know where the amplifier, sirius and emergency telephone etc is located. I have absolutely no sound and have bought Fibre option loop bypass cables to test each component if I can find them.
Why did mercedes eng made everything so complicated. Battery under the seat, electronics under the carpet.
