New MB Recall for Blank Center Screen
I read today of a new recall for the GLC as well as many other MB models due to software issues with MBUX.

You can see if your VIN is included at nhtsa.gov. My VIN is a part of the recall. The fix is to install new software. I’m hoping this will end this problem.

I have called NHTSA and launched a formal complaint with Mercedes USA. Their service sucks. They didn't even know there was a recall. My Dealership knew about it but their policy is to apply the updates only when a customer encounters the issue!!! This is beyond insane.
By the way, for all the models involved, the owners are going to encounter the problem 100%. The only sensible solution would be to call in the vehicles for the fix. That is, if the fix works. I don’t know how to put this in the W214 forum as well, but all my fellow E Class owners need to know about this as well. Woe betide any who encounter this hundreds of miles from home base.
Slightly off topic, but I'm in my first Mercedes after years in Jaguar, Alfa Romeo and most recently Maserati. I think the voice activated response with personality is great and makes me smile every time I interact with it. Kudos to whoever at Mercedes R&D came up with the idea and how to implement it. Also, the functionality of the MBUX system is far beyond what I was used to in Italian cars. The Mercedes system isn't perfect, but it actually works and does what it says it will do.
Ymmv,
