Auxiliary water pump
Hi,
I need to replace the Auxiliary water pump on my SL,
but can anyone tell me where the bloody thing is?
I have looked in at the whole engine bay and searched the net,
but i can't figure out where this thing is!
Any help would really be appreciated!
Thanks!

Nice, thanks for that pdf!
So can I just remove the wheel and the inner liner or can I reach it from underneath the car?
It's a little unclear from the picture!
My pump is dead, also tested it with Xentry it's doing nothing.

whoa fellows! Tell me about this pump and it's purpose?! Does the main water pump not make the heater work? I tell you I am learning more stuff every day about how this car functions and its complexity.

Hello.
Yes, guys check this pump, if not yet.
It's suppose to help cycling coolant around, to get warmer air as fast as possible into the cabin and used for heated water windscreen and after shuttin down the engine it could run for a couple of minuts to ''ease up'' hot engine....
This is mine picture from today, DOT 2005...

How did you know it was faulty? Error message?
I suppose we could just run power to it and see if it runs.
Another one of its functions is to run when you press the 'rest' button, thus circulating hot coolant through the system and giving hot air through the vents when the engine is stopped.

Hi.
Been working on those engines for a couple of years,
brushless pumps are no issues, those are.
Rest function should be working and pump should be humming, if you put your hand on.
And also turning the engine off, this pump help cooling heater core, depending on how hot is the temperature...

I'll get the stethoscope out.
You have a button on the console 'rest'. This allows you to park with the engine off and retain the internal temperature setting, whether hot or cold. Think I've used it once in 7 years, when I was trying to impress a girl. She wasn't impressed.
