upgraded ic pump

Can any one with a 600 or 65 tell me what pump you used and why? Does any one that has done this have any data to show the before and after iats. I know the 55 cars use the big cm90 but I want to know what the v12tt guys are running. Also has any done the therma stat upgrade or know if it can be done on the v12tt's?

I am not aware of anyone on 65s with CM90. You can use CM30 with similar results.

Not that many people datalog, and even fewer biturbo owners go that far, I have shared my data with you which was compared to the data that I was told was from NSM's car after the "intercooler" upgrade and they were identical, my figures also seem to be inline with what you datalogged recently, correct me if im wrong. Its a killer 94 degrees Fahrenheit right now, ill go make repeated runs and tell u the outcome.

It just seems that the 55's run much cooler iat temps and coolant temps and I dont know why. I would think with the air/water intercoolers on the v12tt's they would be the same.

65 and 55 run about the same in terms of IATs.

From own experience, i know that the stock intercooler and pump on a 55 is just up to it, on the stock car, but only just. 55 drivers do from time to time experience the problem of low power, especially when they accellerate fast in between to trafic lights. The airflow thru the cooler is not big enough to keep IAT down, and there is no reserve in the system, the engine computer is disconnecting the kompressor.

I took the consequence and installed a bigger cooler and a bigger IC pump. Since then i have had no problems with IAT what so ever.

I dont know enough about the 600 to advise you, but a bigger IC pump would proberbly help keep the IAT down.

Kleemann did it together with the tuning, and the I/C is their own product, but i am pretty shure that the pump is an electric one from Johnson Industries. Photoes wont show anything, everything is covered. Sorry.

Yes you can.

I have no numbers, but it will help. The best thing to do would be to replace the coller as well.

The CM90 flows 3x as much as the CM30 but requires significantly more work to install (larger tubing otherwise the tubing becomes the bottleneck), got this info from Vadim

So I'm stuck with the CM30 unless I want to start upgrading pipes as well but the CM30 is much better than the stock unit?

Unless lines are upgraded CM90 and CM30 will end up pushing very similar volume of water through the system.

NEED HeLP!!!, I will install tomorrow the Johnson pump-Intercooler pump on my 2005 SL55 AMG.

Went to epc and is freezing on my computer and unable to get the info.

There's 2 electric pumps in the right side(passenger) of the radiator, one is smaller(lower pump) and the other on top is bigger.

Which one of the pumps will be replaced by the Jonhson pump, the bigger (top) or the smaller(bottom).

Also the stock pump has 3 hoses and the Jonhson pump has 2 conector for 2 hoses, the remaing hose should be clamped or what?

Big pump on the left and smaller pump on the right.

Jonhson Pump

thanks,
Ricardo

IC pump is the big one(left on the pictures), the smaller one is the heater pump.
