I'm very interested in hearing the latest news about the mirros, seeing as how i've been wanting to upgrade my mirrors as well and I have an 03' SL so i'm sure to run into the same issues that everyone else is currently having. Glad I found this post because I was just about to purchase a pair on ebay.

I had the same issue with gaugetuner but they were willing to exchange and I sent them back over a week ago. I should receive the replacements later this week. I will say this, communication was good and although it was the wrong application, the item was of above avarge quality.....I just hope the new ones work!

I have recieved my tracking info to today on the cf ones that are supposed to fit. I am crossing my fingers. If these ones dont, I am leaving the original mirrors on and spending another $60 to return mirrors

EBay or 55techdotcom. They fit perfect have to be careful when put together but bolts on perfect better buy them un painted and put them together ( they come apart) and then paint as your car color is probably faded thru time

Indeed, it would appear http://www.55tech.com/ has the mirrors explicitly for early (04) cars. I am curious how they look/function in person.

I received the correct mirrors on Friday. I have not installed them yet but they look to have the correct housings now and are marked differently on the box than the first set I was shipped. I will update with additional photos once installed.

Great, looks like the 05-09 model is the correct one.
Please let us know again as soon as you get them installed.

ok guys so I guess I am now past the official guinea pig stage of these mirrors and can share my experience with you all. I first ordered these mirrors off of ebay in mid september and the ones that were supposed to work did not. After spending $60 to return them I finally got them in on wens and installed them on thurs. As of now these mirrors are 95% installed. I am waiting for the star r230 service install dvd to get to me before I can finish as I have to know what color wire on the center dome light to splice into for the puddle lights on the mirrors. Currently everything is good to go and I have the wire leads from both mirrors puddle lights dangling right under my center dome light that is half way removed. Once I know which wire to splice into and a few minutes everything will be completed. They did take me a long time to install as I went slow to make sure I did not break anything and that everything worked. So both door panels need to be removed, the factory mirrors taken off and dissasembled and once all internals each mirror is taken apart and put back together with your new mirrors they need to be installed and pre-tested to make sure your connections are right. From there a wire needs to be wired from the mirror to inside door panel to kick panel to dome light on each side (this can be somewhat tricky). All in all I love my new led carbon fiber mirrors, and the puddle lights look sweet to. I am making it so my puddle lights come on when I hit the unlock feature on my key. Anyone who is going to do this mod, either in cf or a factory matching color need to order the 05-09 mirrors regardless what year yours is I think, as mine is a 04. If you dont plan on installing them yourself get ready for a expensive install bill to have them installed right. I am very pleased with the quality of these. You cant beat the deal of getting these mirrors for around $300, or the painted ones for $150, totally worth it. If anyone has the star dvd and can look up the electrical diagrams to tell me which wire the dome lights are triggered off of would be great as I wont have to wait for mine to come in

Love the look of the new mirror covers, Sorry I would've replied quicker but i just logged on today to check for any updates, with Sandy and all, this site was the last thing on my mind. Allow me to suggest using an "electrical current tester", poke the colored wires to see which is your dome light. P.s. Make sure the dome light is on when testing the wires.

yes those are the correct ones, they are a little tricky to install but once you do one side the other one is quick. there is a certain way these covers install correctly and do not force it, you will have to play around to see how the covers go on the motor assemblys

Nice. Ronnie would you happen to have a link of the same covers you purchased?

Thanks!

so the oem covers slide over the mirror and when they do two harnesses automatically connect for the turn signals. These wires need to be cut, I removed the end connecter and twisted the new led turn signals to the mirrors signal 2 wires, just test before you install so you dont mix up the polarities. After much thought i decided to leave the puddle lights disconnected because they were pretty lame when on, the led shined on the door, not the floor. Other than the puddle lights that are not even seen since there underneath, these mirrors are def worth the money
