Sorry SLK question, but need quick answer

I decided i don't want to wait for the CLK cab so I'm going tomorrow to see if i can get a SLK 230. My questions follow:

Do the Xenon headlights look any different than the Halogen headlights? I don't care about what the light looks like, just what the headlights themselves look like.

I like the Special Edition very much, but I can't have a full charcoal interior (i want the beige). Is it possible to change the grill out?

Finally, for all of you with the '02 C-Coupe........what do you think of the engine and the transmission?

I'm kinda lazy, so dunno if its going to get to me to have to shift....is it worth the effort or should i go for automatic.

Thanks a bunch

Richard

I think you will regret with your decision. The SLK is a pretty old car. I would strongly suggest you to wait for a CLK cab.

Well, the way I see it, I've had my C240 for 16months now and I want a new car. Something younger and more fun. I'll have to wait 8-10 months for the CLK cab (if not more, because of insurance issues I should wait till im 25 and i just turned 24...insurance on SLK is cheaper). So, I'll get the SLK and wait a year or year and a half and upgrade.

I have both and CLK cab and an SLK. The CLK is a classic beauty. The SLK is small, impractical and the most fun car I had in my life. It is a blast to drive. Do whatever you want; if it is the SLK, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Call your insurance agent about when your insurance drops. Mine says it goes by how long you've had your license, not just how old you are. I fell into the next bracket at age 24, not 25 cuz I got my license at 16. Pleasant surprise for me when I was thinking of getting a new car. Oh, I had Mercury Insurance (otherwise not very recommended other than for cheap premiums)

new SLK will be arriving next summer....

my friend has a 99 SLK230 sport, the cheapsauce won't let me drive it, but I rode in it. The engine sounds raw, but it sure has some power over a lot of cars. The auto trans is just like any other, it shifts very smooth. But I don't feel safe in that car, maybe it's because i'm not use to open top motoring.

Check out the pictures I just posted about my encounter with the brick wall. I am convinced that I may not have survived in another car. Even though it may not feel safe I am convinced that it is!!!
