AMG front bumper

I ordered this AMG front bumper earlier but I think I ordered the wrong one as the SLK55 AMG bumper is different from teh SLK350 sport package one... and I wanted the 55's... I am wondering how much is the SLK55 front bumper actually? I heard it's very expensive but I would like to know and get it.

ps. anyone want the slk350 sport package AMG front bumper?

The only deference is the 55 has air vents on the side and black grill louvers (which can be added). I personally think it looks better without them. Is it worth the hassle and spending extra money just for that?

I think its very tacky trying to make a non SLK 55 look like one. Perhaps a better idea would be a replacement body that makes it look like an SLR.

Why trade it??? The one you have now looks much better IMO, the lines are smoother. keep it.

Hm... Does it really look better? well... I am trying to get a used one right now... I think it looks better with the air vent. Can you really add the air vent on teh AMG sport package bumper? Do you know anyone do it and how much?

I don't have an answer for your question but it's probably better if you just get the 55 AMG bumper with vents rather than trying to add air vent's to your existing bumper. If it's not done correctly, it'll look really bad and you'll have to end up buying the 55 AMG one anyway. I say stick with what you have, you'll like it. I think it looks better but that's just me.

Don't think so. Look at the side of the 55 spoiler. It is quite different. It's actually a bit wider than the one you ordered. That is why the 55 does not have the pivoting fog lamps.

The 350/280 with the AMG appearance package has the same bumper sans vents (the molding of the vents make it bulge a little on the sides) and also has the same exact round non cornering fog lights. Look at the pictures of my cars and you will see this. The standard 350/280 fog lights don't pivot at all, the standard fog lights are just shaped so when they come on they throw light to the sides of the car.

Huh... I always thought they pivot with the "Corner-Illuminating Fog Lights." I never had this option because of the AMG package. But it makes sense now.

Thanks.

The SLK55 bumper actually requires special mounts to install on a regular R171. I recently helped a friend in HK find the bumper and the mounts to fit on his SLK200K (if you still need the part numbers I can see if the box or invoices are still there but I don't think they normally sell them for the aftermarket):

IMO it looks miles better than stock and more unique than the regular aftermarket AMG bumpers:
