The best part about these types of upgrades is that they are undetectable by the service bay, provided they re-program an original ECU, that is... Not that it should be a problem, but one never knows when the service staff will refuse to work on your car under warranty because of aftermarket upgrades. With a re-programmed ECU, you simply produce more from the engine just as it is, and everything looks just as it did earlier.

Where do they get their performance figures from? The dyno graph looks to be B.S. making me question whether they've actually even dynoed it.
The reason for the original flat torque is the ECU limiting the output, much the same as the new RS6. Why would an aftermarket tuner leave this "feature" in?

Material tolerance... my friend, for those cars where the torque is that big the ECU tuner is forced to do not compromise other engine components, like transmition part. Further, it is not only the Nm or Lbf, is the motion that carry the engine through the RPM that make thinks more difficult, such as undesirable vibrations and so on, which may unbalance your engine.
Ah!, the The dyno graph looks to be B.S. , I'm agree and I complained to H&S about that, they should do a better job there.
AmgBoy.
The price should be $US 1,800 so far removing the VAT and adding S/H, using 1 to 1 $US/EURO.
The chip tuning is available now, and you may send the ECU to Berg, Germany.

Is true, in my old C43 I had the H&S chip and the dealer never discovered when I serviced it. Moreover, H&S use the same Hardware, the same OEM chip. They download the original software, and base in the limits of each engine (different in the case of hand made engines, i.e. ///AMGs) they optimize it and upload the new program in your original ECU, frankly undetectable.

I do know if I will buy a new 55 due to the "extra charges" I mean over retail price, dealer premium, and so on; however, Renntech is charging $ 4,995 ($2,995[ECU]+2000[pulley]) for 27hp and 30lb-ft. + perhaps warranty issues...
H&S or another chip tuner may give you the same for just 1/3 of the price!

But the price seems quite steep for just reprogramming an ECU - I'm not saying it is not a better 'bargain' per se, then another upgrade of a different type, but apparently one will be paying for a lot of research and development because the actual process of reprogramming an ECU is not that intensive...

YES,
Especially when you have the "Know How".....those chip tuners unquestionably get huge margins.
