Tires question
Guys,
Its about time to change my tires, i have stock rims on the car, can it fit 255/35/18 in the front and 285/35/18 in the rear ? I am trying to put the widest tires. Anybody use this size ?
Thanx

thanks for the quick reply, i will go 255/35/18 front and 275 in the rear to be safe. I have the stock E55 rims so they should fit. Thanx again.

Charly , you might want to check .. the OEM wheel front is 8" wide , I think you need 8.5" rim for a 255 at least check what the tire spec shows as a min rim width.

I am going with Hankook V12 and pretty sure now will fit 255 front and 285 rear. I think original came with 245 and 275 from factory.

Hmm maybe ill try 285/35/18 my rears re 18 9.5
Will that tire size fit the rim and Fabio why 30 for height?

Yep! I'm running the OEM aero II
, i chose the 30 profile for the rears cause the 35 seems to me a little higher in the re050a pole model, but maybe the brands of the tires change a little the messuremenst i chose 35 for front and 30 for rears and runs perfect!

There is practically NO difference between a 275 and 285. These size tires are w i d e. You will find a bigger difference in the actual tires sizes from the manufacturer's specs. For example, the Yokos I bought were .5" wider than the contending Kumhos in the same size. Also what I also look for is the "squareness" of the cross section of the tire. This is how sharp of an angle the sidewall makes with the tread surface. I like squarer. Much of this info can be found on TireRack.com.
