Anyone interested in Euro AMG springs?

I have a relative who is willing to get them for me... maybe I can get a few sets? Anyone want a set? I'm in LA so anyone interested in LA is welcome to pick them up. I need to get prices as of now...

If anyone's interested, let me know!

They're a bit lower than the US spec springs.

If you're going to go through the trouble of swapping springs to drop the car, it's better to go with some H&Rs IMO. I ended up taking 3/4 of a coil off the front springs of my H&R's (which are going back on after November, don't ask) to get the car sitting low enough in the front.

The euro springs are expensive. I would go with the H&R. Here's a link where a member ordered them and have them put in. Also, in the link, you can order them from europe. Kind of pricey if you ask me.

Good news... I can get them for 400! So if your local it would cost 400. I need to figure out how much shipping would cost, so on Monday I will head to the post office and find out.

PS. With Eibach, H&R springs or other aftermarket springs... you would need a camber kit if you don't want to wear out tires every 10k miles.

No you don't. I put 10k (about 8k with the H&Rs installed) on my rear tires before swapping them out and they still had about 50% tread left. They had a bit of extra wear on the insides but it wasn't enough to worry about. I even had a rear camber kit sitting in my trunk for months and didn't feel like it was worth the hassle to put it on.

My fronts were a different story though. I was running cut springs on the front (not even a one finger gap) and they were done after 10k miles.

You can see the tread on the rears in this pic. They obviously don't have that much extra wear from the car being on the H&Rs. This pic was taken when I was trying to sell those wheels.

Euro Springs

So did you ever order them and have they been installed? My e55 suspension is a bit soft and I would like to firm things up with springs or Bilstein sports. I don't really care to drop the car. Are the Euro springs the right solution?

Never got the springs... Thought about it. Maybe in the near future... If you want to firm it up... I don't recommend the Euro springs. The Euro springs feel exactly the same just a bit lower. Maybe a tad bit better handling. I'd recommend changing your shocks if you want to firm it up but don't care about a drop. How many miles do you have?

Get some bilsteins sport shocks (yellow color) that will firm the car up a bit.

Bilstein HD's and Bilstein Sports are the same shock... different length. I personally wouldn't recommend changing out the stock for those without lowering springs.

60k miles but I'm used to my prior car which was a e39 540msport which had less power but sat a bit lower and tighter handling. Why do I have to also get springs?

Bilstein HD (Which is OEM) - For stock springs, same firmness as Bilstein Sports. Longer shock.

Bilstein Sports - For lowering springs, same firmness as Bilstein HD. Shorter shock to accomodate lowering springs.

No problem! Take your time. I'm probably going to gasp at the price and buy the coilovers, but I figured I might as well find out

Nocturnal...noticed that you took out your resonator. How does it sound and any problem passing smog in LA? I'm in Pasadena and would like to hear your car and discuss the Euro springs if you might be ordering.

No problem passing smog... feel free to come by whenever, I'll PM you in a bit. It sounds the way the car should have sounded from the factory.

Why do people call these Euro springs? They are just springs and pads from another E class or E Wagon with different options Jeez! This has been gone over several times.

Just get Votgland springs or eibachs and be done with it.

They call them euro springs because they are stock on the Euro spec E55's... They came on all E55's except for North America. Some people want an OEM approach to their cars... If they came as an option in America I don't think people would call them euro springs.

I'm actually looking into going with Eibachs but they're saying they don't make any application for the W210 E55s,the closest they make would be the E430. Does anyone know if they would work on the E55,since I believe the curb weight on the E430 is different than the one on the E55?
Sorry to the OP for hijacking his thread...

Eibach lists our AMG's as an application, as well as the other 210's... here are the springs.

Thanks.
That is the exact part number I got thru email from one of the Eibach's reps after speaking with him. But he's insisting they haven't been tested for the E55s so he doesn't know what the outcome would be in terms of height and handling. From reading countless threads about suspension options I'm set to go for the Eibach-Bilsteins Sport application, but still can't figure out if the Eibachs will actually work on my car. Has anyone used this set up?

I know a few people who ran the Eibach set up years ago... they seemed happy with it. Not sure if they were the same springs... but I know they were happy. Gave a good even drop with improved handling.
