it was malfunctioning. i had 3 times a "electrical failure" and the bypass TB was out of function for the time until you restart the car. so you have no supercharger ... this happend 3 times in 10.000km. But i also had to install the head spacers so i took this chance and replaced the bypass TB. It is a normal M111 TB and costs used around 30 Euro :-)

i hope u can help me out, 1997merc e420 , want to buy 2004 ml55amg engine with ecu, all wirings. Is it possible to fit that 55 to my older merc? as far as i know oil tank and exhaust manifolds need to be replaced. And ME2.8 will work with my EGS51?

I think what you should be looking would be '03-'05 CL55 or S55 AMG for swaps. Don't think ML will work.

ml wont work, and basicaly you want to fit a M113 with ME2.8 in a car with M119 and ME1.0 ... you´ll need to change the whole car wire harness ... it would be much easier to search for a car that have at least CAN-Bus allready on board ... then retrofiting the whole harness from a donator car in yours.

Ok so i think i have 3 ways correct me if im wrong please :
1. Buy whole donor car 2000-2002 e55amg, then take everything out from my car and put all donors wires/parts on,

Yeah M119 E50 will fit directly without any mod., cause it's your M119 family..,
and its 5.0l with special head & cams, you have to get E50 ECU as well,,
i think E50 got 3.06 diff., but not so sure about this, if it does, have to get E50 TCU also..!

I am not really used to the M119 era @ w210 but yeah ... M119 5.0 or 6.0 would work, you just need to swap Engine, Tranmission and the ECU/TCU Software.
But really ... why?
Buy a W210 E55 ... Modelyear 2001 or newer (because of ME2.8) und just drive it. W210 M119 AMG are not worth much and the M113 can everything better then the M119 ... except sound, in my opinion the M119 has better sound because of the 32V vs. 24V Engine...
If you want valuable M119 AMG keep looking for a W124 E500 6.0 or at least a E500 ... these are really rare and really nice sleepers...
But really ... why?

My Name is Fabian, i am from Germany and 33 years old. I love to drive Mercedes, besides my E55 i own a W123 280TE and a W123 200T. My Brother and I also take care of his W109 300SEL 6.3.
My Car is Originally a E430 Station ... we replaced the Engine with a AMG 55 N/A, made some Softwareupgrades, Exaust Mods, Camshafts and after all switched the Transmission from 722.636 to AMG Speedshift 722.643! Therefore the rear axle has to be switched from 2.82 to 2.65. The car has aprox 400PS without any sign on it ... the sound makes it a little obvious that it is not a 220CDI but on the "Autobahn" most of the fast cars are looking a little confused when you pass them with 280km/h![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

The Brakes on the Picture are 345mm 4-piston W203 C55/C32/C30 Brakes... very good alternative for the stock 334mm 2-Piston Brakes on your car now.
Actual i drive CLK63 Brakes. 6-Piston 360mm front, 4-Piston 330mm rear.

Hi ... yeah, they are direct bolt on. Rears are the same, both 2 piston 300mm. So you just need the change the fronts. You need to change left with right caliper because of the bleeding valve needs to be on top of the caliper, at the w203 the caliper is BEHIND the axle, W210 has it in front so you need to mount the right caliper on the left axle to get the bleeding valve on top of the caliper. thats it...
i dont know if the styling2 rims will fit these calipers, you´ll need to try. Styling3 fits ...

your car is regeistered as an E430, after you did the engine/transmission/diff change, did you report this conversion to TÜV department or your insurance company about this grosse conversion?
if you did report this conversion to your insurance company did you get higher insurance rates?
what did TÜV department say about this conversion?

it is completly legal ... my car papers show E430 with 428kw (587PS) and 5.5L displacement.
Insurrance company had it registered as tuned E430 with 428kw. the did not raise the rates because i was allready in the 250PS+ category
anything fine... TÜV approved anything.
i attached a scan of my papers, if you are intrested... anything legal and absolutly Police-compliant
... only thing is the VMax, i had it raised from 250 to 280 ... but my car has no limiter but because it is a station wagon and there are no tires that are capable of 300km/h with the loadindex needed i had to go with 280km/h as vmax in the paperworks. nope ... not at all. had it happend 3 times so far ... anything went fine as they saw the paperwork, on the contrary ... they then mostly where really interested in the car and asked a lot of questions. As it is really hard to get the TÜV approval for such modifications in germany the police did not see often cars modified that much with correct approval. Thanks the RENNtech Germany ... without them i never would had that legal without big problems ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

dont think so ... i am not the meeting kind of guy ... maybe i am at a friend late summer where some of the mercedes scene in germany are meeting, if you want too, i can tell you if i will be there ... this will be near the nürburgring :-)
