E55 1, M5 0.
Machine shoot out in Taiwan between E55 and M5, M5 lost control and crashed before testing completed.
Too bad. Luckily all three passengers on M5 survived with no serious injuries.

Wow, it's a miracle everyone made it out okay after a crash like this. But I wonder what the manuever the driver was trying to do when this happened. Granted, M5's aren't exactly renown for safety features but kinda hard to believe this happened.
Now that the car's trashed, wonder what they will do with the engine

Re: Wnna see some wicked M5 pics..........
this actually happens close to where i live in Taiwan.
i think this might be one of the very first M5 in Asia Pacific, if not the first. it arrived Taiwan last week, the accident happened just few days after it past Taiwanese car inspection. so at the time when accident happened, the car only has temporary testing license plate, and has no insurance on the car (Taiwanese car insurance is on car, rather than driver like North America). and the accident happened during a magazine road test against E55 AMG.
the driver was trying to take a corner with very uneven road surface, and lost the backend, hit the divider, flip the car 3 and a half rotations, and stopped by a tree. 3 passengers were in the car, 2 of which walk away without a single scratch, 1 has a minor scratch on his arm.
car is total, as it's structure is damaged beyond repair, but no one was seriously hurt. M5 is defintley a very safe car.
the magazine that's responsible for this on the other hand, will have to pay for the car, which worth a bit more than 200k USD. since there car didn't have insurance yet at the time of the accident.

Wow...first time I see people here agree and believe to what people got to say at M5board.com. Funny how people choose to believe but debate to death on something they don't like to believe.

Wow, someone should add a few more pictures to this thread.
Just ordered my M5. Should have it in November, hopefully. Don't think we'll be doing any of that break-in period stuff. It'll be straight to the dragstrip!

Weird.... from the damage, it looks like the impacts were on both sides.... but how come the side air bags did not deploy (instead the front deployed)??
It would concern me if I plan to buy M5

The title should be changed to E55 driver 0, M5 owner pissed off.
The accident occured during photo shoot for Taiwan motor magazine (one of the better car magazing in taiwan).
According to my source in taiwan. The E55 owner was eager to see what M5 can do. He took a corner too fast lost control and hit the center divider and flipped over several times thus totalling the car.
Just to show you that particular E55 driver is not capable of driving the M5. Stupid to fly down city roads especially for driver that is accustomed to E55 style of driving.
To derekfsu
