Ok, I'll be the first, Super slow-mo paused, & zoomed! Sure looks like a C6 only. I see light reflection on fascia not a scoop on hood, no flared fenders. Plus C6-Z's are REALLY, REALLY loud at WOT.
I'm not saying one car is faster, BOTH are killer rides, just don't think it's a Z, my .02

That's not a C6 Z06. It's a regular C6 corvette with probably a few modifications. There is no hood scoop on it which gives it away.

That's always a possibility, the problem is with most of these videos you never get to hear both sides of the story.
At least I think the 65 owner knew they were being videotaped and I wouldn't really like to throw a race on video... I seriously doubt that the 65 had a ECU… I mean he called the Vette a Z06 Maybe it would get more looks…. Maybe

IF that wasn't a Z06, then how do we know it was a CL65, and not a CL55..

I believe a CL65 stock can walk away from pretty much anything less expensive that it, and many that are more expensive. Or so BBC top great seems to have proven with their review.

Wasn't that the same stretch of high where the same (or another black) CL 65 raced a modified (500 rwhp) Cobra and a modified Supra???
Can anyone clarify this? I maybe wrong...

Except that CL looks nice.

It could have been a CL55... 02, 03, 04 etc.

Well now that we have clear pictures to look at, yes it is a Z06. It did well against the modified CL65, especially considering the CL65 costs 2X+

HAHAHA... What a trip... that's my friends Daniels CL65 and that's video was shoot around the corner from my house! We race there every Sunday. When they hit that freeway over pass, the CL is going approx 168mph.
