This is starting to get interesting!!!!!

This TB is going to make some serious POWER!! Mark my words! You guys with K2 or EVO 2 are going to see some big gains!

I went back to the dyno today. I put my original tune back in the ECU a few weeks ago (The one that gave me my 472rwhp, 547rwtq pull in my sig).. The last time I went to the dyno with this tune (1.5weeks ago), I could only manage 435rwhp, 542rwtq which is a drop of 37rwhp. VERY VERY LEAN 16:1 A/F.. Too dangerous to push the way it was.

Today, equipped with my trusty Star Diagnostics machine, I went to see if I could stabilize the tune and make it a bit safer to drive until I get my custom tune remapped for all the mods.

I used DAS to add some fuel to this poor thing and managed a *** 490rwhp, 545rwtq!!!!!!!!!! *** I wasnt able to print it out because their printer acted up (just my luck!).. But I am going back tomorrow or the next day to get the printout and see if I can mess around with the timing using DAS..

The graph was still all over the place.. A/F was still 15:1 from 1,500RPM to 3,500RPM.. The extra fuel I added showed up at 3,500RPM and was showing 13:1 until 5,000RPM where it went to 12:1 A/F.

At 5,000RPM the hp & tq curve was zig-zagging up and down like crazy.. This indicates either the ECU is pulling timing or there is still some crappy load limiter in my car and ECU is pulling power..

In any case, with a messed up tune and very sluggish car, I am at 490rwhp, 545rwtq now!!!!!!!

When this thing gets a proper tune, I should be WELL over the 500rwhp mark. I am aiming for 515rwhp 560rwtq...

Stay tuned...

Vic, That would equate to how much flywheel HP & TQ...

Using a 17% correction factor (which is conservative) :

490rwhp, 545rwtq = 590hp 656tq at the crank
515rwhp, 560rwtq = 620hp 675tq at the crank

No problem my friend.. If you want one I will order the parts this morning to assemble the kit. If I get it in today, I should have the parts by Friday and we can get started on the build.

Paypal me $2825 CDN to vrus1@hotmail.com.. That covers the paypal fees and everything else except shipping which I'll quote when its ready to ship out.

Loren is Kit #11.

Hello Victor,

Good numbers...but I was told by my cheap tuner that with the pulleys I have diameter (stock 156 vs ASP 182) I am around 610-620 HP mark as well...can it be true ???

Also I thought best A/F ratio is 1:1 in the middle...that what I have and 0.92 on TOP... did ECU here...

You have all those mods and dont have an LSD ???

I am thinkign btw TB and LSD now

Only one way to tell.....

"Hi hoooo, Hi hoooo, it's off to the dyno you goooooo"

If you wouldn't mind throwing it up on the dyno, we would all love to check it out. She pulls 620hp, bet ASP would sell a LOT of pulleys.

I know everyone is super busy, so if you can't get over there, no biggee.

Mike,

Everyone uses different correction numbers to calculate HP. Your tuner is probably using a higher correction factor like 19% or 20% and coming up with 610hp.

I am not sure what you are referring to by saying 1:1 or 0.92.. Is that the lambda sensor values?

My A/F right now is all messed up because I cant do very much with Star.. I just added fuel to make it safer.. I am waiting on my custom tune to get done. I am not sure what my final A/F curve will look like. I'll leave that up to the pros.

I dont need LSD for going in a straight line; I just modulate throttle with right foot. I just hate the way the car behaves going around corners. That's the only reason I would add LSD. I am going to put the Quaiffe unit in, but I am holding off because 2 people have reported the transmission "clunking" when changing gears.. I am waiting for issues to be resolved before creating any more headaches for myself..

I'd be interested to see what a car with all that power, but no LSD does at the track. It's just gotta be spinning and yellow triangle all over the place.

Sounds just fierce though!!

Congrats!

Will stop hijacking V's thread now.

Vrus:

Were those A/F readings taken pre-cat (welded O2 bung) or post-cat (tailpipe sniffer et. al.) ?

thx.

Standard dyno sniffer-in-the-tailpipe..

I am going to get a proper lambda sensor welded into my pipes though since I will be doing alot of changes to this car... LOL...

A/F was still 15:1 from 1,500RPM to 3,500RPM..
Victor, remember, DME will try to maintain 14.7:1 for about 3 seconds after WOT, this is what you are seeing. Do not worry about it. Concentrate on 3.5-6.5K range.

Don't know if I should be giving away ALL my secrets.. LOL..

Drivetrain->ME 2.8-> Adaptations->I cant remember the title, but, you'll see it there.. If I fire it up tomorrow morning I'll post the exact menu sub item.

You can add or remove fuel in 10% increments..

WARNING: IT IS ADDITIVE TO THE LAST COMMAND.. In other words, if you say +10% and save, the next time you go in, it will be at 0% again, if you do another 10% it will be ADDITIVE to your previous because the change is saved in the ECU immediately.

I really hate making posts like this, but... The 3 TBs that were supposed to ship are not ready yet..

I was supposed to get them picked up from the porting shop on Saturday.. He never finished them... Today he was too busy and never got to them.. He said tomorrow morning he will "complete" the work on all 3 and I should be able to pick them up in the afternoon..

Sorry guys...

Vrus, do you know if your 80mm throttle body kit will fit on my C32's supercharger?

I'm really not sure to be honest... The man to talk to is Vadim.. He knows the C32 inside & out (since he owns one also).. Send him a quick email and get his opinion on it.. He'll tell you if it'll work and if it's even worthwhile to do to your car.

There is a post from Vadim earlier in this chain where he states that the gains will be minimal. The TB is not much if any of a restriction on the 3.2's.
