Like I have said before don't waste your time doing the pedal reset. Disconnecting the battery is the only one that truly resets the ecu and brings back lost HP.

Did not work...

Some say there is a "BEP" sound for a confirmation that is worked...
?? TRUE ??

1. Get in the car, close the door.
2. Insert the key.
3. Turn the key two clicks to the right, to the ON position.
4. Press the gas pedal to the floor. Hold the pedal for at least 5 seconds.
5. Turn the key two clicks to the left, to the OFF/RELEASE position.
6. Release the gas pedal.
7. Do not remove the key for two minutes.

Nothing...

I have a Sprint Booster install.
Does this matter?

Thanks

I don't think that the two minute rule is necessary....in fact, I can say that 10 seconds is fine for me.

When I do the reset, and let the car sit for two minutes in absolute silence (with the doors shut and key in OFF position), I can literally hear SOMETHING happening after two minutes. It's a strange humming noise that seems to come from the front of the car and makes a few soft variations in pitch, lasts for maybe 5 seconds. After that noise happens, I assume it's reset and get out/get going.

That noise happens even when you don't do the reset.

Why doyou thinkit failed to work?
When you reset the computer it does not give you back lost HP inless there is some to give. Plus it does not give the max hp the factory tune offers. If you reset the ecu and drive the car hard and it see's no knock and no Iat issues the car will get faster and faster. Ive seen this time and time again at the track and have seen/heard this from cars on the dyno.

Absolutely correct sir! Running on Shell V-Power Racing 100, a few runs on the A60 starting with 87C coolant temp, the car is far stronger than on an 85F day on I95 in Florida with Shell V-Power 93.

Exactly so, I only wait about ten seconds. I suspect the ECU reset occurs at the time you switch the key back to 0 position, but I'll wait the ten seconds anyway cause I know it works. 2004 E55.

For recent proof, I just reset again today after taking the wife home yesterday from her parents. 200 miles by interstate. Would hardly get out of its own way this morning to go to McDonalds. Did the reset this afternoon and waited ten seconds. Later the wife and I go out for dinner and she yells at me because the goose I gave the gas pedal at the first stop sign threw her back in the seat! The beast is back!

No sound confirmation. I have a sprint booster in my car and it werks fine. I usually hold down the pedal for about 7-10 seconds. After putting the key back into the off position and taking my foot off the pedal, I just turn the car on immediately and it werks just fine...

The 4th point saying to wait at least for 2 minutes. Does that mean with or without the key still in the off position inside the ignition? Since the car likes to sleep for a while before it shows electrical changes, should the car also be locked for a few minutes to fall "asleep"?

It doesn't add horsepower. It resets the adaptive values in the tranny, supposedly. If you baby your car on a daily basis, the tranny will adapt to this driving style and set shift points, and shift firmness accordingly. If you drive your car hard most of the time, it will adapt to that as well.

This reset is really for those of us who don't bang on their car a lot.

This "sneaky" ECU reset procedure does NOT WORK for 63 models and in fact have not been shown to work on certain late model years as well The best way to accomplish this is re-setting adaptations at the track with STAR.

Please explain how changing the adaptive TRANSMISSION, will add power from a standstill?
How could it change the power in first gear???? It doesn't. The tranny also adapts very quickly, like 20 shifts; 4 signals. Don't even do this one, its a joke.
The AMG logo on command works great though.

It doesn't add power and no one said so. All you do is resetting your granny driving style out of the memory.

But some clarification on the 4. point of the instruction would be nice. Waiting for 2 minutes with or without the key in the ignition and also locked car therefore since many features only become permanent after the car goes to sleep.

I didn't say you fall into this group. The you was a general meaning.

Btw. I'm wondering where these extra 18 hp would come from...
