- Mercedes-Benz E-Class AMG: How to Reset Your ECU
Step by step instructions for do-it-yourself repairs
Holy Crap you guys.....sneaky ECU reset WORKS!!!
There's no free horsepower here. All this does, on some cars, is to get rid of the lazy, slow shifts that the tranny adapts to when driving it softly.
Nothing more.

I do this everytime I come home from work so the next morning when I fire it up, I smile in anticipation.

Thanks for the tip!
Alex
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
But what you wanna reset is the TCU = Transmission Control Unit. And I doubt that MB eliminated it in 2008
Unless you drive on Laguna Seca daily, the car sets you up in granny tranny settings in normal traffic stop and go. Sneaky ECU resets those tranny settings and thus the car feels better.
Never heard of it causing a CEL light.
Maybe just weird coincidence.
Have an auto zone or someone with scanner run the code.

....Please forgive me for my lack of knowledge and for asking many questions...
Will it, then, reset my A/B service reminder?
How significant is the difference of feeling and/or driving, afterwards?
Lastly...This process is applicable to which model(s) & yr?
Thank-you in advance!...I'm fascinated w/ your finding--thank-you for sharing!
Kind regards,
Reynaldo
Battery reset always trumps sneaky ECU (which is really tranny adapts reset)

The best way to accomplish this is re-setting adaptations at the track with STAR.
