DON'T DO IT IF YOU HAVE A ECU TUNE!!! I have done this twice now in the past year with different tunes and both times it reset my tune back to crap mode. Took over 100 miles or so to get it back to beast mode. It is a fact...

I have a kleeman tune and never noticed any problems or the car being slower after the resetting the adaptive throttle.

This thread is massive now so I really don't know the results for the 63, but for the 55, Sneaky It Up. One of the most modded 55's on the board here and sneaky works every time.

Who knows what it is really doing with a 7 speed. Be careful with that.

E55 AMG
I just tried this for the first time. Saw no difference at all. Perhaps my car had already adapted to my awesome driving style

I have the VRP/Powerchip tune. I do this once a week or so. I have not noticed any ill effects.... unless you consider shifting at higher rpm, and faster downshifts "ill".

A couple people said that after the reset it leaves their car unstable? Is this supposed to occur? Also, when you wait the 2 minutes you can leave the car right?

Also, 2 minutes or more like 5 o.o?

Thanks

Thanks for the tip! I just tried this with my G55K and wasn't able to feel any difference.
I am not sure if I had it in the correct 1.) on position. Is the on position ment to be the first click to the right or second click?
I think I tried both options, but both times I had opened the door - could that have any impact?

TY

I notice something weird with the ecu reset....one most notibly shifting from 4th to 5th at WOT. It usually shifts at 135mph, but with the ECU reset, it shifts at 140, but seems to have a fuel cuttoff feeling for about 2 seconds and then shifts.

Second click. Just do what I do: Sit in the car, put the key in, go to second click, hold gas pedal down for 7ish seconds, turn key to "zero click" but don't take it out, then just sit there and listen to a CD for 3 minutes or so. Don't open the door.

Don't forget your running shoes in Vegas.

hehehe - no worries, I am getting ready to start tuning them shoes. Dyno'd them Sunday to get a stock benchmark in and tuning is starting this week.

Thanks a bunch - will try again without opening the door!

Yes.... can't open door. If you sit quietly, you'll literally be able to hear a snap or click noise after 3 mins. Almost like a timer telling you, I am now reset for "EVIL"

Hi,does this work on all AMG cars.
When you say turn the key to first position but not start, do you mean turn the key until all warning signs are lit, such as traction, or do you mean
first click when accessories are active.
Thanks.

It works.. I throw the e55 in 1st gear, took it up to 15-20mph and it spins the tires!!

the automatic now shifts to the lowest gear it can physically goto when you floor it..

Look a few posts up:

"Second click. Just do what I do: Sit in the car, put the key in, go to second click, hold gas pedal down for 7ish seconds, turn key to "zero click" but don't take it out, then just sit there and listen to a CD for 3 minutes or so. Don't open the door. "

Means you put your key in and turn it twice to the 2nd one and not the first one.
