E55 rental? really
wheres that?
I need the car in my hands so I can physically look at it and the engineer that worked with me on the project can inspect also.
I found a place that has an E55.. I am going to rent it for a couple of days and use it for fitment testing. Hopefully that will run perfectly smooth and we can move on here..

Here are the pics of the airbox in all it's glory. 
Doesn't the rest of the engine bay look boring now that the CF Airbox is sitting there.. The engine bay is just begging for a CF engine cover and CF tubes..
Ok.. tell me what you guys think. This was installed on a bone stock 2004 SL55 that we rented for the day so fitment is perfect. They are making the ring for the 80mm TB that is on my car and then it will be installed on my E55.

As soon as I get my hands on an SL65 that's exactly what will be coming..
I almost had one, but my friend traded it for a 997 GT3.

It just goes to show you can get quality for a goog price. Vrus you do some great work for 55K. I know you been told but great job. Just hope I can get my taxes back so I can jump on board.

I had the same reaction as you guys when I saw it.. It looks amazing in the engine bay, but, after seeing it this way, it definitely needs some company with some other CF pieces..
You have a good eye!!!! Yup.. This is a pre-production prototype piece.. It was the first one that came out of the mould.. The production piece will DEFINITELY not have any issues with the weave. I would send it back if it did and wouldnt pay for it let alone ship it to anyone.. It has to be perfect or it isn't going anywhere.. LOL.. That's why its been a 6month ordeal to get to this point..

My first thought was it needs some color to set it off better. I'm thinking red intake manifolds with the logo and bolts not painted. There is already a small amount red in five other locations, so it would look good. Nice work.

Curious how much HP its worth though? .... shall I open the speculation at 11rwhp on a fully stock motor.... including the VRUS air filters of course.
If I went by the looks alone I would think its worth around 70-90 rwhp...!!!
Just very difficult to assess how much gain it will bring ... on modded cars it will be worth morre for sure.
EDIT: It needs the other bits though - it makes the engine cover look like a real POS now ....
