My E55 Had A Blackout...

After a couple of weeks of hard work and some stress I finally got it all back together I also had the front bumper repainted and holes filled where the plate was. I also added H7 HID lights and clear corners. I also had Xpel installed on the hood, fenders and mirrors and will have them come back once the bumper cures.

Just waiting on my 20" wheels with black centers and polished lip and tinted glass.

very nice. subtle, but nice. I still prefer the flat hood badge over the star though

Very nice. details details details, especially on getting the chrome off the doors, etc. I will eventually go with the black out look. How is the grill painted? any clear coat? Is it gonna chip or dunno yet?

What kind of color or color code did you paint your grill? I was thinking of doing the same!

Ditch the black star, go for flat hood emblem. Otherwise very, very cool mod When you see the car on its own it probably doesn't immediately ring a bell what has changed, just look a bit sinister.

Let me start by saying this is a big job... You will have to remove both bumpers to get the trim off. The door moldings are not hard to remove but the chrome trim is. Each door has a screw on the inside that need to be removed and all you need to do is pull the molding straight out. To remove the chrome trim you need to remove the small clips by prying both side out which is a pain.

On the emblems... before you remove any of them please mark the location with tape and mark each letter so they will be reinstalled in the right place. I used a heat gun to remove them. Each letter will have to be cleaned and re-taped big pain in the butt.

I used Fusion glossy black and sanded each piece with 220 sand paper.

On the grill, Fusion doesn't require clear coat, but I install Xpel on the grille and front bumper strips.

I want an "E SS" like you did before you rebadged.

HA HA, Just jackin with you. Beautiful job, looks way more complicated for me to do. I once had that much extra energy but that's way in the past. I'll just live vicariously.
