Lexus IS-F - 60 in 4.2 - 1/4 in 12.7 - 150 in 24.5
5.0 V8 - 415HP
8-Speed Auto
$60K (US)
"Terminator" Engine look with the plastic cover off the engine (I literally LOL'ed - in a good way - when I saw the picture with the plastic off)
The F versions interst me (I own and have owned lots of Lexus' - my wife hates the M-B. Oh, BTW in 600K miles of driving Lexus' and only 3-4 unplanned trips for service, and I get a Lexus loaner).
Rumor is out a 500 HP V-10 is possible for the GS. I hope they bring it to the LS, too! I may be "in"...

They had their chance against the W211 E55 and E60 M5 but it just passed them by! too bad!
Edmunds ran one.. at 13.0 and trap around 110
others have been around that same figure
110 to 112 should be a good standard deviation.
stock vs stock.. its going to come down to the driver of the IS-F.. too many gears.
The 416 hp is just a marketing figure.. probably more like 430-440hp.
Getting more power out of this engine..is going to be expensive, not much aftermarket support.
I like the overall package.. too bad the back seats are not that great.
I rather have this engine on the GS... despite the additional weight.

I'm just being a devil's advocate here... IS-F is actually lighter than C63, so its less of a boat than "C63". Plus Lexus never brakes down period, so if you want a car that will never go to a dealer and you're willing to sacrifice some performance for reliability, its a great choice. A lot of people would rather have a better built car and better dealer network/service than 50hp more...

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

I worked for Lexus for 9 years, it was never about performance- always refinement and isolation. A reliable product, yes. An engaging one, no.
This car will be the most aggressive yet.
Japanese refinement, German engineering- now if we could make a hybrid of that??

I actually looked at the IS350 just to see what it can do, I of course had to go to a Toyota delear and I must say, not impressed. The Toyota however, with it's cheaper price tag and virtually identical features (doesn't that bother anyone buying a Lexus?) was a bargain.
I liked almost everything better on the Toyota then the Lexus. Minus the badge which it itself is a quick fix, not that I would be interested.
Paying an extra premuim just to have that badge is ridiculous. The IS-F, you shall see, will fall victim to many; E55, M5, RS4 included. To think AMG/M/RS fans here and other places are sweating about it is a bit comical.
#'s on the CLS55, M5, and STS-V Comparison in Car and Driver...
The CLS could get by on looks alone, but there’s obviously more to it than that. There’s power, for example. The key distinguishing element between the CLS500 and CLS55 AMG is under the hood, wherein resides a supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter SOHC 24-valve V-8. We’ve seen this engine in AMG powerhouses before, notably the E55, and like other boosted Benz engines, it’s a leering torque monster. Horsepower — 469 at 6100 rpm — ain’t exactly peanuts, but 516 pound-feet of torque is enough to affect the rotation of the earth. Peak torque comes on at 2650 rpm, and there’s enough of it to cover for the relative shortage of forward cogs in the five-speed automatic transmission and also to get the CLS out of the starting blocks in a serious hurry: 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds, 0 to 100 in 9.8, the quarter-mile in 12.6 at 114 mph. That’s Corvette turf, and pretty brisk for a two-ton car.
i wish I had this mag - the 0-150 # is close (maybe within a second but does it matter at this speed???
I don't see anybody "sweating" about the new Lexus focus.
I do see people making reasonable comments about how one of the top quality luxury car companies in the world might make out with their foray into performance cars.

There is only one Lexus car (non sport ute) that shares the same platform as Toyota. Can you name it?
It has nothing to do with it being a japanese car. I'm excited about the Skyline and other japanese cars. Its just the IS-F that to me is boring.
