Well, go to the vette forums as I did, and see if you can have any better luck getting one to show up. I tried, but one of them instantly locked my posts, and the other one had no takers.
Of course, if jangy would just get in touch with the guy who he ran and re run it, getting it on the fancy digital videocam he keeps prattling on about, this could be settled.

This would put an end to this endless debate. And the z06 owner would be well compensated for his trouble.

uhm
reality sucks ...
plenty of us have been to the drag strip and seen stock Z06s run. Your E55 isn't gonna be trapping nearly as high. You make it sound like the VRUS tune suddenly gives your car wings ... Thats Redbull not VRUS.
BTW I'm not doubting your story ... I just think that under controlled circumstances you wouldn't win again.
Now seriously take this crap to PMs ... this board has gotten extremely childish with not only members but also obviously admins. (referring to the Evosport stuff)

Yes, because in addition to Newton's Second Law of Motion, no other physics shall apply in jangy's little rosy world, including measured road test results, 1/4 mile runs, etc...no light shall penetrate the fog that surrounds.
You didn't run him from a dig. You ran him from a roll.
Instrumented road test data. Road & Track (one of the slower Z06s tested) ran 50-70 in 2 flat. But there's a 1-2 shift in there, so at a minimum it's 10 mph/1 sec, with 12 a reasonable estimate for top.
You said that you gave him a jump, got on it, chased him down. I figure about a second for him to hop on it, for you to react, depress accelerator, vehicle to react. Got a better estimate? I'm all eyes.
I think the numbers are sound, and you certainly haven't shown them not to be, instead doing your typical rant, insult, and rock throwing. The numbers Car & Driver got are even faster, but I don't have them handy...I'll put them up later, so you can throw rocks at them as well.
But really, jangy, I'm kind of tired of wasting time, as you seem to be more keen on arguing about this than you are actually recreating the event. I and many others say what you claim to have done can't be done with your weight/hp; you say it can.
So do it.
As someone said: talk is cheap.
Let's see what your uber-Benz can do. Last time you talked smack was about the E63s, and we all know how that turned out.
Have fun in front of your computer tonight. I'm outta here.

the difference in what everyone is used to seeing from the E55. Time will tell.
Are you now saying that modded E55s will lose to stock Z06s in a controlled 1/4 mile race? Dude, you need to check your own reality. The Vette may be the best america has to offer, but it ain't batma's car.
There will be all kinds of E55s at the Fontana day. We'll see if a RennTech tuned one shows up. I'd love to line up....

"throwing in my 12 cents" is a post or two, not freaking 10. Yes time will tell. I'm sure their tune is a fine one but it ain't the next coming of Christ.
10 out of 630ish? Ooooh, you are so selective.
Yes that is exactly what I'm saying. Take out driver error a stock Z06 will beat a modded (stage1/2) E55. At least one likes yours. Does that mean a modified E55 can't ever take a Z06? NO. But it would have to be significantly more modded than what you have.
at least you have something that can be tested. Can you name an E55 that is not on the bottle that you would consider modded "enough"?
Good for you Jangy ... like I care. Your problem with Renntech was yours. Sucks to be you. Personally I have a great relationship with them.
Apparently you do and that has always why I'm leary of you. If you think being in bed with them is a relationship, LOL!! Does suck to be me, don't it

Yeah, but before I leave, let's review:
Here are the numbers Car & Driver got in a Z06, just to show how ridiculous what you're claiming is:
Zero to 30 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.6
40 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.2
50 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.8
60 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 3.6
70 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4.5
80 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 5.5
90 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 6.7
100 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 7.9
110 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 9.3
120 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 11.0
130 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 12.8
140 mph . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 15.0
150 mph. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 17.5
Standing 1/4-mile . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 11.7 sec @ 125 mph
Now, pick a speed to start your race, and give the guy a one second jump. Here are the Z06's splits from several speeds:
40-50: 0.6 sec
50-60: 0.8
60-70: 0.9
70-80: 1.0
As I said: if you "WAIT" as you put it and give the guy a one second head start, meaning that it took one second from the time you gave him the jump for you to react, depress the gas, for the onboard computer to read the info from the dbw throttle and increase the flow of air and gas, etc., then he'd be going at least 10 mph faster than you.
So, let's say that you ran him for 12 seconds. If you started at 60 mph, after one second he'd be 10 mph ahead. After 12 seconds, he'd be going just shy of 140.
So just to match his speed (which wouldn't catch you up to him at the end of this), you'd need to run 60-140 in the time it took him to run 70-140, or about 10.5 seconds. But you didn't say you hung with him, you said you'd chased him down, yes? To make up the initial 10 mph/1 sec jump you gave him and catch up as you described, you'd need to be another 6-10 faster, so you'd need to hit 150 in about the same time, but hey, let's be charitable and say it took you 11 seconds, to give you a bit of extra time to go by him and celebrate.
Which would mean that your car could run from 60 to 150 in 11 seconds.
To give you an idea of just how fast this is, Car & Driver tested a Saleen S7 twin turbo, which has 750 horsepower and weighs 2968 pounds.
IT ran 60-150 in 10.2 seconds. It also ran the 1/4 mile in 10.9 @ 140.
And you're going to be within a second or two of its 60-150 time.
With 503 rwhp and a curb weight of 4200 pounds.
O-kay.....
Hey Rock, I don't get it. What do you mean by knowing how? I know he was trying, so that aside are they all manuals, or something? We were going in a straigh line and just doing repeated blasts. We were playing for over 40 miles, seems like he would get one good run in. It got so bad that I would WAIT and let him take off first and just WALK him down.

Yeah, but before I leave, let's review:
As I said: if you "WAIT" as you put it and give the guy a one second head start, meaning that it took one second from the time you gave him the jump for you to react, depress the gas, for the onboard computer to read the info from the dbw throttle and increase the flow of air and gas, etc., then he'd be going at least 10 mph faster than you.
Why have you now doubled it to 2 seconds? You first claimed the first second for all the reaction times. Now, you want me to watch him jump for a second before I even react? Stretch son STRETCH.

What did you mean when you wrote that you would "WAIT" for him to get on it and then chase him down, a "WAIT" of 0.0000000001 seconds?

Got any other bright ideas there, sunshine? If you feel you can do a better job setting up a run, by all means, feel free. But I've produced numbers and vids to back up what I'm saying, which is a far cry from what you've done, i.e., nothing.
Further, jangy has rather pointedly avoided addressing whether or not he'll actually be attempting to replicate this give-the-Z06-the-jump-and-run-him-down race....why do you suppose that is?
