What does that mean?

Does anyone know what that means? Every single morning when I start the car, I see that sign blinking. Is it because the temperature is not warm enough?

I believe it just means the car is warming up. Once it's "warm" it stops blinking.

Thanks. I also confimed with other AMG Members. It is just a warm up signal.

"Fantasm" If you don't know please don't give out fault answer.
If the car is low on oil, a message saying "check oil at next stop" will show.

The owner manual states that you should not rev the car to high rpms until that oil temp screen shows 81 C. So that basically the car is giving you a "silent" warning not to drive hard yet

Yes, the normal operating temps is between 95 to 100 C. But how do you know that on your car? The E55 does not have an oil temp screen? I believe it was introduced in the 63.

and fuel gauge is on the left side of the cluster...

That is the engine temperature. 2007+ models have an additional screen in the instrument cluster menu that shows you the oil temperature.

Don't worry about it Cedric. We just discussed this over the CLS AMG board.
See link below to that thread. https://mbworld.org/forums/c219/243649-cls63-engine-heat.html

Don't mean to resurrect an old thread.

When cooling down the the car at the track with ice. the Oil temps drop down below 80* (E63 Cluster)

Ive also heard that you are not supposed to rev your motor before oil temp reaches at least 80* (light will stop blinking) Does anyone run the car hard after temps drop that low? I don't feel it's safe. Just wanted to get some opinions from others?
