Mount for Boost Gauge?

Does anyone have a good solution to place a boost gauge that looks decent in a W211? Tried searching the web for a pillar mount pod and didn't turn up anything.

Thanks.

Not trying to show it off - it's actually for a CDI but wanted it easily readable.

I started off with Buick Grand Nationals back in the late 80's early 90's and just got so use to them. Thought it would be nice to have one in the CDI.

BTW - what is the stock boost level on a W211 E55?

Wow thats a really nice install... not sure how it would work with our silly speedo / tach dials we have.

Dayam all we need is a feed from the on board OBDII MAP output to read into the speedo cluster... I.e. where the temp / speed is seen.

MAP / AFR & Oil temp together would be really nice.

Also the circular markings as used for the speedo cruise/limiter could be used for a graphical display.

How tough can this be for a competent programmer?

Clean and tidy..

For a CDI I recommend the ScanguageII (OBDII type), works fine on all but some of the AMG models

Good point, since there is a vendor integrating a radar detector in with the current MFD.

I wonder how difficult it would be to tap into that data bus and add a device...

I don't have the expertise to do so, but I am sure some out there do.

We had an MB gtg in the midlands last sunday steve and a tech brought along his star, he enabled tyre pressure monitoring for me, he also set the outside temp to be permenatly showing along with the miles,he set the fuel remaing to show both how many miles left along with gallons left, and a few other options.

Ill ask him about this post and see what he says mate.

I know this is a silly question, but what happens to these pillar-mounted pods/gauges if the curtain airbag goes off ? Wouldn't they launch the pod into one's face?

Perhaps - I have been lucky enough not to witness a side curtain airbag so I can't say for sure.

Fine print on most of these state, for off-road use. Differing states have obstruction of visibility &/or SRS interference on their inspection books.

I am running 3 gauge pillar mount. It takes some trimming but worth the effort.

Boost, AIR/Fuel, Oil pressure.

It takes tome time to trim the fitment and a little bit of heat to bend the perfect angle. I used a carbon fiber finish as it fits grey and black of my upholstery.

Dremel helps.

used a pod on the pillar a while back, now removed

just use the Android headunit with no AFR, intake temp is very useful
