Just got blown by a Mazda!

Holy shiz - I was cruising on the freeway when a blue Mazda Rx-7 (I think, had no markings) egged on a race. I was thinking no problem, to my surprise I got fricken blown. We were going around 65 and stopped somewhere around the 130 or so, at least I did. When traffic slowed down I got a chance to ask what the hell he has done to that monster...all he said was "LS7". I gave him a thumbs up and went on my way. Anyone else run into a a$$ whopping like this?

I must say, I had a '93 RX-7 twin turbo and that thing was a rocket ship. Something as simple as getting an intake, drop pipe, a rotary specific cat, and cat back exhaust put me somewhere around 350hp. I hadn't even touched the turbos yet, just worked on letting the engine breathe easier.

I've often thought about getting another one as a play car to have that driver involvement again (read: manual) and along with the fact it is still one of the better handling cars in the world and can be beefed up in the HP arena relatively easy would make it a bunch of fun!

Oh, and shame on you!

505 HP V8 GM crate motor dropped into a tiny *** Rx7 and possibly more HP if modded. I can see where he could walk ya.

Watch out for those old Datsun 240Z's as well. There are a lot of guys dropping V8's in those as well.

No doubt. I will always appreciated a fast a$$ car, whether I win of lose...props are given regardless.

Ya but an E55 is the best of both worlds faster then most cars but still retaining the MB luxury.

I was rocking out to my new sirius install and once it was on it was too late. It sounded fricken mean...unbelievable. Either way I would have given it a go, there's no need to be timid because I'm very proud of my FAMILY sedan. Make no mistake most of us could have a car like that but how practical is it? I was just happy that I didn't have my kids in the car...I finally I got to get it on

wow.. i was just going to start a tread like this.. but just now as i was coming home from the freeway, i came up to an silver 350z nismo edition, believe it was a stock nismo car.. i downshifted to 4th and we both somehow hits it at the sametime, it was 80mph to about 140, neck to neck until i slowed down.....
then again, i dropped it in 3rd after coming out of a lil merging onto another highway with him, he hits it first, i hits it a lil later, that thing just kept on gettin smaller and smaller when i was flooring it.. how is that possible?!

(the freakin guy was on the phone the whole time, didnt even bother to look at me wen i wanted to give him a thumb up)

You gotta love sleepers. There's a guy running around in my town with a Mazda Miata with a built 5.0L Mustang engine in it...it's not much of a sleeper, you know it's something special when it rolls up on you, it has huge bulging fenders, a roll cage and that distinctive Mustang growl. It's real fast to say the least.

I have not run into him with my Black yet. I can tell you that it was nearly as fast as my CTS-V from a roll-on and my CTS-V is nearly as fast as my Black was so it would be a good race. I think I would kill it from a standing start though.
