Thanks for the pics...I'm glad I'm not the only one who can get that bored ! I've taken pics of more esoteric stuff than that.

more power more heat , My recomment is you should get the spacers and install them at a time or you'll have to remove the supercharger again .

Victor at VRP would have definitely reccommended the Phenolics Spacers to be added at the same time!!! As you have to remove the S/C anyway so adding the spacers is a no brainer! Lowers temps by about 30-40 degrees which is significant. Order them up as I would not do any install without some sort of heat spacers. I have heard the 80mm TB adds approx 30 hp without any additional tuning... Can anyone confirm this data? I would also order PTE - Patrick's 180 degree T-Stat... I just ordered mine from him... Also think about changing to larger heat exchanger and pump and you are ready to rock and roll baby!!! Best regards, Joseph

PS I am addicted to the info and knowledge that can be obtained on this site! Thank you PTE, Jakpro1, Rock, Juicey, Exotic-Metal, Vadim Victor, Brandon, Jerry and all the helpful members!!! My apologies to all the other knowledgeable people that I have forgot to mention, my sincerest!

Hoping to put it on once my VRP shorty headers come in to do it both at the same time. Well I ended up getting the VRP600 package and am hoping to get the advertised 500rwhp .

Its $1999 on VRP's website. http://vrptuning.com/cart/index.php?...&products_id=6. Supposedly worth 25-30rwhp

Thanks! I'll try to add the pics to the provided DIY on the 80mm TB install on the how to thread.

Yeah I may order the spacers. I already have the Code3 HE paired with a newly replaced factory pump.

Well I finally got around to installing the 80mm TB this weekend and boy does it definitely sound like the motor is sucking in more air! The car seems to be pulling harder than ever before on the top end now! My VRP600 is finally fully operational!
Some may remember that I lost 8mph in the 1/4 mile after installing the ASP pulley with no ecu tune here.

I was planning to hit one of the dragstrips this morning in Chicago but both Byron and GreatLakes Dragway were closed due to temps below 40deg. I will try GreatLakes Dragway next weekend as it is now the only track to be open the rest of November on weekends only, weather permitting. At least this will give me some time for my ecu to adapt to the new changes.

One very important thing to note on the install is that the intake bypass valve harness and tb harness are exactly the same connection! I mixed these two up and when I started the car, the motor was running very rough, backfiring, and the cel came on. I quickly shut the car off and ended up switching those two connections. Before starting the car this time, with the air boxes and y-pipe removed, I checked to see if the tb plate moved according to pedal input with the key in the on position and motor off...it did so I started the car and all was good this time around. After driving ~10 miles and cycling the car on and off 5-6 times the cel turned off.

I took some pictures of the install up to a certain point but hopefully these will help those of you trying to tackle it yourselves. I followed these instructions by stevebez.

Can`t wait to the pictures. Sounds like you will fly with your 80mm TB added to your other mods.. I know just the 80mm TB and ASP pulley combo is very strong for me..

What tires you going to run at the track? What is a vrp hem? Is that exhaust?

Initial Pic

Cover removed

2 air inlet tubes removed from air boxes and radiator

Remove hose on y-pipe drivers side

Clips that hold air boxes to rubber mounts. One in front and rear of each air box.

Clip that holds y-pipe to tb. One on top and other on bottom.

Pic with cover, air inlet tubes, air boxes, and y-pipe removed.

Loosen screw clamps on rubber hoses that connects surge tanks to intercooler

Surge tanks. 8 screws hold the surge tanks to s/c.

Final pic with surge tanks removed.

Stock throttle body

I stopped taking pics here because I didn't have the time to take pics and finish installing the tb before today to try to hit the dragstrip. I should have though because the tracks were closed anyways.

Ok, how long did it take from start to finish? Did you drain the coolant first ? Did you lift S/C off alone or use hoist?

bassn_07, yeah the 80mm tb doesn't have a notch anywhere in it like the stock one for the clips to attach to. However, the connection was hard to get on as it was very tight. Mine seems pretty secure eventhough the clips aren't attached.

It took about 6 hrs total with the help of another person. I can probably do it in 3-4 hrs a second time around since I know where everything is and what to do.

I didn't drain any coolant, I just clamped off the 2 coolant lines and let the coolant in the s/c-intercooler housing leak to the ground.

I had my friend help lift the s/c-intercooler out of the engine bay.

Thats all the pics I have . If someone else were to do it nearby, I can take the rest of the pics and also help with the install. I don't feel like taking everything apart again to just take pics .
