wtf... while the whp makes sense how come youve got so much torque?? stock i have 410whp and 449wtq. and yours is modded right? I wonder if it would whine like urs with this box or if its due to some of ur mods.

I am waiting for the group buy too! I tried the intake on my stock e55 (aleksandar1099 is a friend) and it has the same whine!!

WE NEED PEOPLE FOR THIS GROUP BUY, I WANT IT...

p.s. i think he made more torque because of the asp pulley and let tune...

Somthing might be wrong with your car. Those HP numbers are incredibly low for a car with an ASP pulley and tune. You should be in the 450 range, before the airbox.

+1

I was thinking the same thing. At first I thought that's some HIGH torque numbers fer a stock 55k motor. Then I realized he was modded. Then the HP numbers didn't make sense...

please don't forget my questions about the dyno procedure, was it done with the heat shields in place and was the hood open or closed?

hey chiromikey, sorry i forgot to say,

the dyno was done with the hood open and heat shields were installed.
....

the car is making lower numbers because i have a very mild tune to compensate until i have a HE installed...

your car is making less hp then stock....
your asp pulley does not seem to be giving you any hp despite you having an ecu tune

but thanks for posting and putting the effort in

blackbenzz- its not the oem box wrapped, it is 3" stainless steel piping mandrel bent, with a piece to cover the engine bay, all covered in carbon fiber
Pictures of them? the 3" piping and the heat shield.
And whats ICE's web addy? Google search is not helping...

the car stock has 516 torque at the crank and now my car has 513 torque at the wheels.... im pretty sure that that is more than stock... i put the effort in for sure.....
i put up this tread to share my experience with a new product and you make an attack on my car? why may I ask.....i hope i am not over reacting...

and as i said earlier my car is running a mild tune because i do not have a Heat Exchanger yet, after i get it, i will have it retuned by LET (who gives free retunes for life, unlike anyone else) and get more hp....

....ok i am done venting...

back to the cool intake

hey man,

i am just a customer sharing an experience,
i only did a dyno because i did not know what numbers my car was putting down after my mods and it just happened to be at the same time that the intake came out. I tested out if the intake did anything, and it did, and i posted the results.

i dont mean to offend in any way, in fact i want to do the exact opposite and express my happiness with my new mod

4 wheeled car.
I think it's a valid question to wonder why the HP figures are so low given the mods. While there's no denying the TQ figures, it's a bit odd...

i'm not knocking you in any way. i'm just worried the results are going to be quite skewed because of the location of the intakes and the fact that the dyno was performed with the hood up. again not knocking you or the results, just want my curiosities satisfied before i consider spending money. if you do get a chance to re dyno with the hood down i'd be willing to be the results would be much different. if i lose the bet, you can be sure i'll be buying that intake!!!

WOW, another possible great way to increase HP in our cars!!!

If possible, can we get a pic of the shields around the air-intake or whatever it is that is preventing the hot air under the hood from being sucked up. I am very interested, but just wanted to see all of the parts for this air-intake mod. Thanks.

Question

Would we need to get a tune after this to optimize our setup?
