W211 flat black grill???
Vader13 has an OEM looking grill that is flat black... but I don't think it's the paint but rather, it looks like a bare grill, just minus the chrome and glossy black slats. It's ****ing hard! Considering flat black wheels at this time, and this would match quite nicely. So, anyone know where to get that grill?????

I already looked but couldnt find anything. Yeah never chipped is why I want one, but also to match the wheels. But after thinking about it some more, I think I'll go glossy black ont he wheels so it's not too racy looking like your dragster :P Plus I forgot about the CF grill that DCT made.

What I did was took my OEM grille off and separated the chrome from the gloss black backing… Had my buddy shoot it with primer, gloss black, and then cleared it with matte/satin clear. I have had it for a few months now and not one chip. The contrast looks mean too…. Especially b/c it matches my satin black wheels.

Here are some pics of the grill on my car at SoCal Euro. Photos were taken by various people, not me.
Jangy saw it in person and can attest to the design and quality and he's getting one.
I should point out that this one is the very first grill made, so those of you who saw it up front and noted some slight imperfections, be aware that these will not appear on the final product.

You can't powder coat the grille b/c it is plastic !!!!
This is what you need to do:
- Take your grille off
- Separate the chrome from the gloss black backing (small flat head screw driver and pop all the little tabs out)
- Take Scotch bright or steel wool and scuff the chrome section up really good
- (Not necessary but will not hurt) Take it back to the body shop and tell them to shoot it with and etching primer
- bake it
- then shoot it with what ever color you want
- bake it
- shoot it with clear ( heaver the better to prevent chipping)
It is better to get a body shop to paint it then do it your self b/c the paint / bake process it much more durable then back yard spray paint (which you will have to repaint almost monthly.)
Let me know if you have any questions

I feel like a bit of a dumb *** posting this but i will so some of you can have a good laugh, I bought a used W211 grill off ebay for $25 shipped, pulled the grill apart by removing the tabs, removed all the chrome off the grill facia (That was quite a job trust me i still have lots of little cuts all over my hands) primed it, painted it, re-assembed it, removed my grill of the car and went to put the new trick looking gloss black grill on and thats when i found out it was a w210 grill.
So im also looking for a nice gloss black grill if anyone has one for sale or wants to trade for a stock one.

The seller's eBay username is redcometm3
He does have some matte black grilles listed, but I dont know if any of them are for the W211. You should just message him through eBay, I'm sure he can still get you one.

A Prius because I'm green
I'm actually wanting to get my grill painted gloss black. You still interested in maybe trading? I was just down this weekend we could have done a simple swap if you were still wanting a stock one. PM if you want to look into it!

Anyway will post back here if these are still available. Is your piece just a flat black painted grill or is the paint protected with an additional layer? (Pleasantly) surprised you've managed to avoid chips.
