Black birdseye wood shifter surround
So I've seen a lot of photos where people have replaced that silver-trimmed plate around the shifter with a wooden one, matching the rest of the wood in their car.
Where can I get one of these? I have the black birdseye wood.
Also, and I'm sure everyone knows this already, but polishing your wood with a paint polish (Meguiar's mirror glaze #7, any other various polishes) and then covering with a synthetic wax will put a mirror finish on your wood trim. Looks INCREDIBLE!

I've seen this piece at Park Place Mercedes on their 2009 E63 and was thinking of replacing the silver to the birdseye also. Maybe MBenzNL can get us a group pricing since a few are interested.

I replaced the silver metal piece with silver carbon fiber. Going with the matching wood made the car look like an E320 not an AMG.

I too thought that the wood shifter surround looked really good in pictures, but then I thought about getting in the car and seeing it all the same color would look pretty bland and boring.

I wasn’t a big fan of doing the entire interior in the typical black carbon so when I saw this, it was a great replacement for the existing silver metal surround.
The piece came from RennTech so it’s a perfect fit. Since I don’t have my E55 anymore, it’s for sale for less than a wood surround...at least from my dealer.
