I need quicker shifts....help!!!
Just as the title states "I need quicker shifts....help!!!". I took my car to the track this past weekend and my cars shifts are a little slow. I believe with quicker and firmer shifts my car will be in the 10's. I tried a valve body mod but that didn't work out so well. I'm not willing to switch tuners just to get a Renntech speedshift so that option is out the window. I hear that AMG had or has something similar to the speedshift if not identical. If anyone could give me my options that would be great.
Options can get pricey but work. Swap to a triple disc, etc. but you will lose driveability.
AMG the tuner had the option but the only way to get it was to take the car there. Some tried to source the stuff but never updated us..

Shifts are MUCH faster - but also there does not seem to be a pause in power - its seamless.

I'm not only running the updated solenoids, but I also have my line pressure set to the max value. The day to day shifting is a bit clunky, but it pays off when you stomp on it.
Remember Renntech Speedshift only works if you have a renntech tune. Not only do they flash the TCU, they have to flash something in the ECU as well.So that makes it unable to work with other tuners tunes.
If you are not interested in switching to Renntech. Paramount Performance Transmission has modded valve bodies for the SRT8 guys. The 722/NAG-1 trans found in the Chrysler/Dodge cars, is just about the same trans in our cars.
I have spoken with the owner of Paramount Performance transmissions and he seems like a nice guy and is very knowledgeable when it comes to the 722/NAG1 transmission. Not to mention, he is the person who supplies all the parts to former site sponsor Southern Hotrods transmission if I recall.
you can email Bill at billschurr@hotmail.com His site looks like its got some broken links, Regardless Bill is the guy you want to talk with about 722 transmission mods.
Increase line pressure = quicker/firmer shifts

After getting to the track go into the transmission controller under Drive through SDS and reset adaptions and it will relearn the shifting while you are stomping the ***** out of it.

All of my clients that I perform this reset on swear it shifts like a monster and I have plenty of seat time and know it works.
Of course once you are caught in traffic it will return to "granny shift" mode.
