It will fit your rim but your over all diameter will increase by 1.4" going from a 265/35 to a 275/40 plus 275 will not look pretty on a 9" wide rim.

Julian14,

A Goodyear 275/40/18 will work on your car. If tirerack says it will fit, then it will fit. I have 275/30/19 on my E63, fits like a glove. I have General Exclaim, that I ordered from Tirerack. And my car is lowered, no rubbing or bending issues at all. I'm running a 9.5 inch rim out back too. Just make sure you enter your cars make, model and year. The guys at Tirerack know, what will and will not fit your car. If your still ensure, just call them up, and explain things to them, they will give you good advice.

Those General Exclaim have alot of dry grip, and great in the rain as well. And they have a decent tread wear. This is the first time, I had them on the AMG, we will see how long they last.

Yuille36,

275/40/18 is a horrible size for an E55. It is 5.11% larger in rolling diameter than a 265/35/18.

It is unsafe, and more importantly, uncool to alter rolling diameter by more than 3%.

Call the guys at tirerack and they will tell you the same.

It will fit but it is not the correct (stock) diameter.
