Hi,

Just got a quote for warranty through "Direct Buy Warranty".

05 E55 AMG with 55K miles
5 years with additional 130K miles no cap/no limit/0 Deductible on the "Platinum +" plan. Apparently covers everything...

COST: $2900

I smell bull. HAAS ANYONE HERE had experience with Direct Buy???? Loads of negative press on the net, but I want to know if someone here has actually dealt with these people. LET ME KNOW PLEASE!!!!!!

Sounds like a scam..... you should go to your local dealership and ask them which aftermarket warranty companies they have dealt with and which ones gave them least trouble when paying. Each warranty company is different and they behave differently in different areas.

Remember, most aftermarket warranty companies start up and stay in business for about 6 months or so then they shut down or change names. There are only very few reputable ones out there (and they are indeed expensive).

I'm using direct buy at the moment and have made one claim so far with no problems. I had to have the front passenger suspension bushings replaced because they were causing some steering wheel vibration and the claim was covered in full. That being said, I am still slightly uneasy with the company because of the things that I have read online, but it is either this or easycare who wants something around 5k for the same coverage. I really wish that the chrysler plan was still going because I would switch over to that.

Vazha, if you're currently looking to purchase an extended warranty, I would suggest giving Lisa at Courtesy Motors a call. She is very knowledgable, honest, and upfront and can provide you with solid warranty advice. Here's the link to one of the threads with her contact info:

That is a good question, while at ASC in Arlington Va, I asked my salesman a question. And that question was, after my factory and extended warranties are done, can I buy another warranty. And he said no, and pointed me in the direction of the finance officer, that informed me, that Mercedes will only cover a AMG up to seven (7) years. After that, you can not buy an extended warranty through Mercedes Benz NA. She recommened JMA. She said that after your factory and extended warranties are done, JMA is the way to go. Their warranties are Mercedes Benz compliant, and is the closes to factory warranty out their. So that will most likely be the way, that I will go.

Mercedes House of Imports in Buena Park said good extended waranty companies would be Mercury or Easy Care.

I have Royal PVP premier. They aproved a $6000 claim on my o4 e55's rear diff and a major leak frm motor n trans. They won't cover my worn motor n trans mounts and heater valve.

MB of Anaheim Finance Manager recommended AUL Reserve coverage. Good for 4 yrs 48K additional miles. It has 'disappearing deductible'($0) when I take it to this dealership and $100 elsewhere. He said it's 'as good as MB extended warranty. They sold it so I trust it. My ML is in for some repairs yesterday, so far so good no bs from AUL, also dealer provided complimentary loaner as well. Since you got warranty already this reply is pointless. Anyhow just providing my 2 cents. Since you're in LA area I recommend MB of Anaheim if you're price conscious with service costs. Customer service is top notch. Downtown LA and House of Import are blah~

Look at the recent post of Chrysler warranty - this is one that I looked into (I still have not bought a warranty). Great prices if they fulfill their obligations. Read the terms of their warranty - looks to me like they're preparing to cheat you from the start. Their North American HQ being in a dumpy building in NJ upstairs from a take out Chinese joint doesn't inspire confidence either.

Not a problem, glad I could help

They have not. Michael Case has stopped selling their warranty program but you can still purchase contracts direct. Todd seems to be the person most people prefer to deal with (he was the one who picked up when I called).

CHRYSLER DOES NOT DO WARRANTY FOR AMG's over 5 years old. I called the warranty department directly and LITERALLY drove my ride into my local Chrysler dealership. The phrase they used was "we no longer offer service contracts for competitor lines".

Thanks fr the heads up tho, I tried this first.

This is great information as there seem to be some type of complications with after market warranty companies and California. I've literally paid in full at. A local Chrysler dealer for csc, and had it rejected and refunded 4 weeks later.

Direct Buy Warranty:
05 E55 AMG with 55K miles
5 years with additional 130K miles no cap/no limit/0 Deductible on the "Platinum +" plan. Apparently covers everything...

COST: $2900

I told them NOT to run my card and the agent said they would wait 24 Hrs for me to approve the contract. I did some research and found out that they DO NOT pay out on repairs. When the repair is more then the cost of the policy they simply cancel the policy without the holders approval. Anyways I thought I was good because I told them not to run my card. Last night I get an email CONFIRMING my purchase of a Direct Buy Warranty with a policy number and all the terms! I quickly called my bank and they were great, just canceled my card at no charge to me and they're overnighting me a new one.

Here's the best part. On the email confirmation I received, there are two email addresses for customer service. I sent an email to both saying how I never approved anything and NEVER gave permission for them to run my card. About 2 minutes later I got a bounced email back saying "UNKNOWN ADDRESS"!!!

As far as JM&A, they do not sell directly, you have to buy through the dealership. They referred me to my local BHMBZ and I had already called them. Quote was $4900 for 3/36.

Easy Care: Less expensive when purchased through the dealership. The rates at the ds are negotiable where as if you call easy care directly they are not.

So far, Easy Care through Lisa is the best deal yet. Still shopping, will report my findings....
