SPEED Channel: CTS-V vs E63 TONIGHT!!!
Dunno if its been posted, but the Speed Channel has a show called supercar battle. Its a pretty good show where they pit various supercars against each other (1/4 mile, top speed, handling, braking, etc). First show that ive seen where they do this head to head and right next to each other. Well tonight, it says CTS-V vs E63...so be sure to tune in.

I wouldn't put much stock in any of their test #'s. They have done some 60-130mph runs in previous episodes They came away with 11+ second 60-130mph time for a 1,000hp (flywheel) Whippled GT500 that ran 190+mph in the mile.

Well, Ive watched a few episodes...and there times were pretty accurate. The cars are driven by Paul Tracy and Tanner Foust. I know there is some TV drama written in, but all in all...not a bad show. The episode with the Corvette ZR-1 and the Viper was pretty good in my opinion...

top speed run sucked...usually they do it head to head on an airplane runway. I think they were doing some advertisment for Michilin tires...since its at their proving grounds..

lol its and american show, and the show is blah-ish, none of that **** is accurate, it looks like the drivers are trying to prove who is a better driver and not which car is a better car, like for example sometimes they jump the star and yet they wont redo but they will take that in count?!

usually not right next to each other on the same piece of pavement for every test...although this current battle is a bit watered down than previous episodes ive seen. The wet handling...iv e never seen them do...usually its a dry course..

A Prius because I'm green
The CTS-V would take the race to breaking down first as well! This reminds me of the motortrend comparison between the new Mustang 5.0 and M3 where everything was within .1 of a second. What they don't compare is quality overall and I'm not too sure I'd take a punstang over the M3

All in all, it is an entertaining show....but like I said, I wouldn't put much reliance on their testing. It would be interesting if both drivers swapped cars and tried to better the others times. That might give a better indication on which car and driver performs better.

I have watched every episode and I will say again that all their 60-130mph times are terrible. A stock CTS-V and E63 should easily eclipse their (13.4s and 14.3s?) times respectively. Their 0-100-0mph times are also very suspect, but I am sure their reaction times are not perfect either.
