12 ECU flashes and 3 hours of road tuning!

12 ECU flashes and 3 hours of road tuning!
All the small and most the large detials have been taken care of before the Texas mile.. I got lucky and was able to catch Jerry with Eurocharged for 3 hours of live road tuning!! Jerry has been able to make some huge break throughs in our dreaded torque management and other maps that effect how our cars perform.. As soon I as heard, I drove 40 miles to meet him and be first in line to re-work my files/maps and tune!
Holly ****avos! From my first test run, until my last, there is no comparison! He showed me the maps and changes that NO-ONE in our industry can re-work but him! There are over 10, 000 maps and hundreds of files to change, if not thousands! Not only is Jerry a tuner but he is also has a very strong IT managment background, so this adds to his tuning strenght..
He made 12 flashes and A/F is nice and smooth and car was boiling the tires, even in 86 deg heat..

Isn't a tune the same thing as maps/files? The eprom only holds one file which contain your tune that a tuner alters the maps within.

An ECU file for the ME2.8 is 512kb which contain 2751 maps. All of the maps are contained within 1 file which is flashed onto the ECU. I have not heard of any mercedes ECU having anywhere near 10,000 maps except for the 63's, and even then most maps are used for emissions purposes.

ME 2.8 is a pretty basic Engine management system. Our motors are pretty basic since they run speed density
Maybe you should look through all the maps, files and managment systems and how they all relate to ECU and even TCU , not to mention , most in German and they say the word .. BASIC..You little boys are never going to learn much, if you keep looking for ways to hate instead of keeping an open mind.. Waste of a post to have to copy the files to show the map number but here you go..

Lol if you say so. Glad your happy with your tune. Bottom line it's still a speed density car, he's not redoing the maps he's scaling the load tables and it's not that big of a job. ANYONE with some time and WINOLS can learn to tune these cars

Since Exotics-Metal55 success, I could not wait so I meet up with Jerry about 20mins ago and had him reflash my car.
I know what paramaters he changed i dont know if i am at liberty to mention them. But let me tell you the car feels violent in 2nd and 3rd gear. Probably going to meet up with him later on today to reflash it with some other changes.

There is another moded car here in town with same injectors as my car and Jerry had a great dyno tune in the car.. After our 3 hour road tunning and new parameters loaded in,, this car picked up 20RWHP and 22 TQ over a great dyno tune.. I just heard this news about 20 minutes ago..
A/F and timing is one thing but there are a ton of other files and controls in place at every gear level that have the ability to be changed.. Dyno tuning is a decent tool but usually only done in one gear, road tunning is reality .. Most the 15 or so changes made to my management files are not going to show up in a 3rd gear dyno pull only.. Some will but not all.
Shardul said his tires broke loose in second gear today under part throttle and it is is 84 degrees here..
I love these larger injectors!!! So much extra fuel and small changes go a long way..

That would be my dad's CLS that's currently on the dyno = ) Jerry is also going to fine tune my CLS with an almost identical file. Both of our cars just got finished being modded with the same exact parts and Jerry is working some jaw dropping magic right now. I was floored when I heard the results as well.......and that's with some slight belt slippage on a mustang dyno. Oh and by the way Brooke, correction.......there are two other modded cars here in town with the same injectors. We're doing twin CLS 55 builds. Can't wait to see what kind of Havoc your car does at the Texas Mile!

It's the magic lamp of the 55! So much babysitting going on with this car in the ECU sometimes!
That was he biggest difference I could feel with my Jeremy tune. Thing would go nuts in 1st and 2nd and for years the ECU kept trying to babysit and shut me down. Not just yellow triangle but torque management and it drives you nuts.
