New Green Filters from Evo Sport..butt dyno OK!
So I have had stocky sukky filters on for 45K. Motor is stock, resinator delete.
Use a star drill bit with power drill or your hands will fall off taking the bolts out.
Anyway, I can hear a change, a suck sound when I blip the throt..I FEEL it also at W0T. I like my filters A LOT.
Thanx EV0 Sport.
If you have stock filters and want a quick sweet mod.
Change the filters with Greens or K&N and Delete the res.
Next is the Black Intakes from TTM

Do me a favor just to be safe, when you get a sec, pop off the intake tubes and peak in with a flashlight just to make sure they are seated correctly and have not fallen/collapsed down.
My greens did that to me but it was years ago.

The Green Filters collapsed in my E55. Luckily i caught it in time. They looked like they melted, and were being sucked into the y-pipes. Be careful. Keep an eye on them.

I searched our E55 forum and it did not come up. I searched the web and found this link.
Seems to be like any product, they have their ups and downs, problems and advantages.
Best to keep an eye on them like anything.

I have the K/N's. Switch them back out to BMC or K/N buddy, rather be safe than sorry and when you get the scoops, get the viper red. It would look insane on a murdered car like yours

I noticed the filters fit a lil loose in the airbox. I am going to check mine again today.

No, they were installed correctly. The edges seemed to have melted, and that made the filters collapse. I exchanged them for K&N, and never had a problem. The guy that bought my car still has them in.
There was a few threads about this.

Mine were fine, in fact snug as a bug. I will keep my eye on them. Best way to test is too probably just remove the plastic intake pipe and stick your fingers in there.
I do not think Brad at EvoSport would keep selling these things if they were 100% fatal.

They are not 100% fatal, but failure seems to be common enough to avoid them. Why take the risk when there are plenty of alternatives that are as good (if not better) and in the same price range (if not cheaper)?

I've been using KN filters in all my cars for years n years without any problems... Wellll almost haha... In my X5, I guess the filter had too much oil, it messed up my MAF...(according to my mech) since then I wipe down the filters to remove any excess oil and been rockin fine

From what I are here is that forced induction is moving allot of air and they collapse or rip. Also I bet. Install sometimes is to blame. I've had these for two years on my clk500, have them on s500 and my dad has them on r350 no issues. I can are how some may not install them properly .
