I'll definitely have a write up of how it rides and drives.

I know the car will still be far from BMW handling but it's a start.... M5's won't have the "in the twisties" quote for much longer...

I'll probably keep it around the same as I have it now. It's not SLAMMED but it's pretty low.

lol whats with the "its not a track car" "you should have started with a better car" comments. being an enthusiast isn't finding the most efficient way to tune a car that was build for whatever, we're not computers lol we do things because we like too. i know ive spend tons of money i never got back on alot of cars. dont regret it and would do it over again. my point is the w211 is an amazing car, i passed the cls55 for my e55 and i love it. the handling on the other hand is appalling, trust me its not bad until you drive an evo then get back in the e55. i hope the coilovers make it better because im seriously considering this.

Two different cars... Evo is for kids and E55 is for adults... Two deifferent cars for two different class of people...
Sit in an Evo and then sit in a GT3RS and you would know what i am talking about.. You can never make an Evo drive like a GT3RS either, can you ?

There will always be people who like and people who don't. What can you do. As long as you're happy with the car.

Still got a few days. After the car is on the ground, we have to adjust the ride height and once that is done, we have to conquer the electronical gremlins with Star. Shouldn't be a problem. I guess this is really what everyone has been waiting for....Then off to get an alignment.

THEN...

We raise a lil hell.

Actually you can make an EVO drive like a GT3RS, not in driving experience but in terms of track speed the Evos are extremely potent however like you said, they are toy cars for children. My point was the E55 chassisn has potential, the Airmatic isn't exactly performance bred and is truly vile. Airmatic is the work of the devil!!

I'm very sure that many members here have owned Evo before. I had three myself. So we are somewhat familiar with what the Evo is capable of.

To me the main reason to convert the E55 to coil-overs is to make it a little more "reliable". My car is 92k miles and still on the original air shocks, so it's like driving on a ticking time bomb (you don't want to be 500 miles from a dealer just to find out one of the shocks is blown). The better handling is a welcome bonus. To the OP, thank you again for doing this.

2006 E55 AMG --old cars -- E39 M5, 2.7tt Audi S4, E36 M3 **Ducati 996, 748
its great to have options --- but looking at this build -- it looks to be tooo expensive. I think I will just get some rebuilt shocks --- plus - I am spoiled using my raise height buttons on those dips and speedbumps --- I dont think I am prepared to go back to the sideways crawl

I don't think it would be expensive if you can sell the Airmatic system. It costs ALOT and that's why some do this because if Airmatic fails it's not a cheap fix.
