Need Help! Clamps on rubber housing that go from Airboxes to TB

Hey Guys,

Ok so taking these clamps off was not easy and I was careful so I took them off no problem. Now putting them on is a different story. Is there a trick to getting these on? I tried almost any method I could think of and sat there working on this for almost an hour with a buddy of mine, finally giving up and coming on this forum thinking there must be a easy solution to these snapping back on with no problems.

So who wants to be nice and kind and help me out, how do I get these clamps to close back up together?

Thanks Guys

I used a pair of channel lock pliers and just pinched it shut....seemed to work okay for me. I hope you get it figured out. Good Luck.

Nah its always been the devil bro. Some guys have a few tips. Hope they chime in. My tech uses a kinda angled set of pliers. Always like the ones for removing c clips to get his on. Still a beotch.

Here is one tip from an OG

Here is a picture for the person with the clamp question. It is a pain to deal with them but it can be done. Mini screwdriver to release, side cutters to close and some technique and persistance helps. This is Ted's replacement installed.

I think it took me less time to install my Surge tanks than to clip one clamp together.

Man these things are crazy, I'm gonna be back in the garage at it again with these suckers and I have 4 to do.

Thanks for the help.

I didn't know we can re-use those things. I just use normal worm clamps on mine.

I was going to suggest just swapping them out, as well. If you want to keep a nice clean look, use some T-bolt clamps. Otherwise, a standard hose clamp will work.

Def want to use a cleaner look for the car, do you have a link of what these clamps look like? can these be purchased at a local car part store?

Thanks

Ok I used these and they worked 100% perfect took me about 5 minutes to get all 4 of these clamps to snap back in.

Yeah if you can't get it a normal worm clamp will work. Good luck.

Got it with the tool in the picture above. Very helpful when anyone tries to clamp these back together.
